I usually cry when I read very emotional or sad visual novels and/or dating sims, especially if, for example, the main heroine is someone I can relate to. I don't think what would traditionally be counted as a video game has ever made me cry, but then again I play mostly niche games.

Then again, I mostly play roguelikes and MUDs these days, though I will be getting another moving visual novel or two soon.

FFX got me a little teary eyed more than a few times. Let's just say I got pretty caught up in Tidus' and Yuna's romance and found it's progress very engulfing.

........And with that little admission, I'll be turning in my man card.

Nope, surprisingly I'm really, really tough... Not even Mother 3 made me shed a tear... It's like I'm completely oblivious or something...

at least half my games, infamous big time i was playing hero side and got to the part where cole's girlfriend dies, i had done the quest wrong and got the evil karma, so i thought if i reloaded the game and got good karma she would live, i guess i was thinking like dragon age with the decision engine. i found out she dies no matter what and i lost it, at this point i felt like the story was using me like a tool and it had taken away my power of save\load, i was furious, kesler was going to die i didn't care if it was almost midnight, i needed revenge.

so i blew through the last chapter like a bat out of hell, and grinded kesler into the dirt, and when i saw the ending i was confused, saddened, and worried for myself and cole.

to this day i still have a deep emotional attachment to cole.

but no other game hit me that hard before. i can't say anything besides what a excelent game, not what i expected from an unknown company.

I love RPGs. I get emotionally connected to the stories in them a lot. A good game can make me cry like a baby. :)

Mother 3. It's tagline, "Strange, funny, heartrendering" sure is fitting...

I second this. Mother 3 was brutal for the emotional spectrum

Silent Hill 2 did. Yakuza might have. And maybe Snake Eater should've, but it mostly just ended up pissing me off.

Snake Eater? Really? I can't think why or how that could make anyone cry. Except for the preposterousness and the writing?

A lot of my friends say the Xenogears made them cry. I haven't played it yet though.

My daughter was so touched by Final Fantasy, she cried.
