(I was really not sure whether to post this thread in the "Games and Video Games"-section or in the "Social Skills and Making Friends"-section, just move it if I took the wrong decision.)

Does anyone elese here find it hard to socialise because their main obsession is Pokémon?

I am 17 and I suspect I have AS (my psychiatrist says I probably have it, but it doesn't really matter) and I have Pokémon has been my main obsession since I was only 4/5 years old.
In my class, noone knows much about me. Noone knows what I do all day and this is because I don't tell people I play Pokémon games. I can't because they would make fun of me.

Another problem of mine is that I, almost compulsively, restrict myself to only this interest which is why I find it really hard to make small-talk...

Can someone relate to this?

My main obsession isn't pokemon, but I have small-talk issues because I only talk about my "obsession."

By the way, have you ever heard of pokefarm.org?

Actually I'm quite the opposite.
I was able to socialize because I found other people who enjoy pokemon too. We trade, battle, etc.
There are a lot of pokemon forums online where you can discuss your interest with others who love it just as much. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to go to a pokemon convention and meet other fans face to face and become friends.

I don't play pokemon because I've already beaten it. I beat it twelve years ago in 4th grade. The only unique poke'mon game after that was Puzzle League. It was fun, but it was a rip off of tetris attack.

I do indeed like Pokémon, but it's not my primary interest (That would go to Sonic).

If PKMN were my main interest, everyone's mileage would vary.

Really? In high school Pokemon was the big thing. I also had small talk problems because I was not really into pokemon anymore. Any movies you like?

Pokemon is a way for us to take control of lesser beings so we can assert our dominance in the world. In the new Black and White versions, there are interactive questions where apparently the enemy organization is trying to get you to release your pokemon so they can be free. Of course they are hypocrites and would stoop to beating a pokemon to get what they want. Try it!
