I don't have a lot to spend on games, so I was wondering what the best RTS is lately. Starcraft II? One of the later C&C games? Maybe something else?

I loved C&C Red Alert 2, played AoE some, never played Starcraft. I don't like to have too much crazy stuff going all at once or a game that is too fast. What does WP think?

Warcraft 3! And DotA too but I don't know if that really counts as an rts...

Starcraft II is fun too, but it feels a lot more like you're playing an fps because of the insane speed of things in it.

I love the C&C series. Generals was really awesome but it was horribly bug-ridden.

Sins of a Solar Empire. Starcraft 2 was good but completely unoriginal.

I don't think so. Zero Hour is one of the best, most polished and balanced games out there.

But there's only one game that beats ZH, and that's Supreme Commander.

My favourite RTS at the moment is King Arthur: The Role-Playing War Game, a hybrid between RTS/RTT/RPG.

I loved TA, but I've never been able to get into SC or SC2.
