I just played some super street fighter 4 online just now...and i just frick'in hate it! EVERY SINGLE TIME i play online...its always someone better than me that hands it too me BAD. i find such experiences just frustrating and i think the match making is rigged so that you cant win against the other guy. I don't have the same problem with FPS games though, i am ok getting sloshed in an FPS since there is more then 2 people paying it but when it comes to one-on-one online games, i just simply give up since the good players hog all the glory and such. I have just completely given up on it and play off line. I am not a competitive player by any means. I enjoy my hobby and il keep it that way

Join the club. With all the hackers and lag switchers out there, it's a wonder if fair games are ever played.

I rarely game online, but the couple times I've tried it, I though the lobby allowed you to set your skill level so it would match you with appropriate players...not that everyone is honest about it, I guess.

It's just a steep learning curve against other people, defintely possible though.

People can play cheesy in online games, especially fighting and sports ones. I don't blame you for giving up on Street Fighter 4 - I tried playing it online and everyone just spammed the same attack.

Practice makes perfect. In most games there are two phases to the learning curve: the controls and the psychology of the AI. When playing against other humans each has a different mode of thought although there are often some manner of commonality between them. As long as you know the controls though and attempt to learn the patterns of the other players you will eventually be able to play as good or better than them. If however playing against other people is too stressful, playing against the AI is usually an option with most games and those are quite predictable even if they are programed to be random or tactically adaptive.
