Aliens: Colonial Marines

Apparently, the game Aliens: Colonial Marines is going to be released in spring of 2012. It's supposed to take place after the events of the movie Aliens and (as might be determinable from the sequence of the game trailer) after the cryotubes were ejected from the warship Sulaco. It may be slightly contrived, but it will still be interesting to see a game following the events of the best movie of the Aliens series.

I hope it's better than the recent Aliens Vs. Predator game. I agree that Aliens was the best movie of the series. There are so many good quotes in that movie.

The first AvP wasn't so bad, heck it was even better than the fourth Aliens movie.... but then again, what wasn't....


Aliens was good though. I kinda wish that they had kept some crew on the ship, such as the pilots who were just loitering around with the dropship's door open, but it was done well and not having a ludicrous or contrived plot like the AvP or the forth Aliens movie had.

Nobody else find this interesting? Probably shouldn't have watched Aliens as a kid, it scared the heck out of me then, but as such it's practically a fond memory now - even though it's pretty much a failed mission set on the wrong foot by a corporate bureaucrat who doesn't realize how lethal the bugs are until he's killed by one of them. Still, a single squad of marines against an entire "antihill" what could one expect anyhow. If wave after wave of swordsman kept attacking a handful of soldiers with machine guns they'd eventually be overran as well.

Wow, I suppose not too many people care about a game which at least seems to have a plot which should have been the third Aliens movie (and it would have been a heck of a lot better than running around a penal colony). Does nobody find exciting the prospect of a game directly following the events of the movie Aliens with an investigation carried out by the Colonial Marines as to what happen to the crew of the Corvette class ship Sulaco and the colony Hadley's Hope on LV426 just 17 days earlier?

Since Aliens is one of my all-time favourite movies, Colonial Marines looks at last to be released after all the delays that nearly killed it off. AVP was crap, roll on 2012!
