Does anyone know of popular gaming forums(for example, anything that gets more daily activity than WP's gaming forums) that isn't associated with GameSpot or any other CBS sites?? This, sadly, includes Gamefaqs. The mods at Gfaqs have been going crazy at the littlest things recently, so when I came back after a year of not having posted there and posted one of my usual odd posts about rando s**t, they were all over me. I disputed the moderation, calling it unfair, and disputed it so much actually(while posting other topics about the subject) they actually BANNED me. I didn't have an alt, so I can't exactly create another account there. So does anyone know of any sites not associated with them??? Sadly, IGN forums apparently fall under the GameSpot/CBS banner as well.....

Please help me out here, gamer type people!! !

Thanks in advance!! !

Next Gen Update is probably the best independent gaming website out there. Although its not as active as WP, it averages about 800 people online at a time so it is still very active. I'm not active on the forum anymore, but i can say it has very dedicated members, they even average $1000+ monthly donations.

Basically looking for somewhere to talk about all video games. Kinda like gamefaqs.

Also, to the first person who answered this topic.....Yeah. Don't think I'll be going there if its less active than WrongPlanet. No offense, but response times are absolute s**t here as it is. Back over at gfaqs I could post a topic and have it answered within a 30 minute break period consisting of me taking a leak, going and grabbing some Subway or Schlotzsky's, and grabbing a Java chip frap from Starbucks for afterwards. I'm looking for something where I can get my answers fast, cuz WrongPlanet just isn't doing it for me.

Sorry about your experience on GameFAQs. The mods there have always operated like secret police. The issue is, a mod can theoretically take any action on any message, and not need to give a reason. If Allen caught on that mod might get banned, but they can do that. Plus there are n00bs who will mark you for anything and everything. I'm also convinced the dispute system is rigged, and that anyone who's ever said they've been able to successfully dispute a message is a mod's alt or otherwise bought off. Actually, all that is a little in exaggeration, but it's pretty bad over there. If you're subtle enough you can slip past their radar, and I've had a lot of fun practicing to be subtle so they don't get down on my ass--but that's a lot of hard work to have fun, and isn't for everyone. Still, those are my favorite forums. I love how there's a board for practically any game in existence and if you go into some of the more obscure game systems there are hundreds of boards with no topicality enforced, where the eyes of the mods scarcely reach.

Heh, I've also been banned from GameFAQ's for dumb reasons (namely, arguing my case for why FF7 isn't the best RPG out there). Have you tried the Giant Bomb forums? Giant Bomn is pretty popular.
