This was brought up on a gaming forum I frequent and I thought it would be a good idea to post it here. What are some of your favorite levels or areas in games? Any general types of environments? Could be for any reason, like music or atmosphere or level design. Here's a list of my own specific ones:

Oracle of Seasons - Subrosia, Tarm Ruins
Skyward Sword - Faron Woods, Lanayru Desert
The Wind Waker - Outset, Windfall, Forest Haven, Link's Oasis, Hyrule Castle/Hyrule, the Great Sea as a whole
Majora's Mask - The moon
NieR - Village, the Aerie, Seafront, Northern plains, Lost Shrine, Barren Temple
Okami - Pretty much any of the field sections really
Metroid Prime 2 - Sanctuary Fortress
Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia, Pirate Homeworld, Phaaze
Halo 3 ODST - New Mombasa
Fallout 3 - Megaton
Fallout: New Vegas - Whatever the place is called that Caesar's Legion lives in on the other side of the dam :p
GTA: San Andreas - While I enjoyed most of it, Bone County and all its desert were by far the most awesome to explore
GTA IV - Generally the buildings you could go in, like the old sprunk factory. Cooler for multiplayer while hiding from police
Killer7 - Loved a lot of areas because, while most seem rather ordinary, the graphics style and camera angles make for a really unique perspective. Might have to go with Battleship island
Super Mario Galaxy - Observatory, Toy Time, Freezeflame, Matter Splatter, Space Junk
Sonic Adventure - Egg Carrier, Final Egg, Speed Highway
Sonic Adventure 2 - Crazy Gadget, Final Rush
Sonic Heroes - Bullet Station, Egg Fleet, Final Fortress
Shadow the Hedgehog - Cosmic Fall
Sonic and the Secret Rings - Evil Foundry, Night Palace, Levitated Ruin, Skeleton Dome...probably the most creative levels in any Sonic game
Sonic Unleashed - Eggman land, Apotos, Spagonia, Holoska, Empire City
