I just quit City of Heroes & I am getting frustrated w/ DC Universe. Ppl will not have the patience to help me out & it is a hard game. A shame, really since DC Universe is pretty much the only game I've found where I can actually play a villainess. I wish there was a single player game w/ similar alignments that was simpler, where I would not have to worry about being good enough for other players if I am not top-notch. Anyone have any suggestions on a game w/ such alignments where I am not too stupid to play? I sure wish I could design my own game, but unfortunately, I am not good enough on the computer & please don't tell me, "Oh you could figure it out yourself!"

Any of the Fallout games, you can be the nicest guy in the world, you can be a psychopath, or you can be some combination, whichever you want. Didn't have to terribly much of a learning curve. There's also Mass Effect, it's got a bit more of an involving story, but... Fallout just has so much more... exploding zombies.

Only one I really know of is Arcanum. You can play the villian if you want. Unlike Fallout it's actually possible to get away with crimes in towns.

You can get away with a crime in fallout. Reverse pickpocket a grenade into some ones pocket, they go boom. No on blames you. You steel and no one sees it, you don't get blamed.

Ok but w/ Fallout, I know I want to be the bad@$$ villain girl, but I don't want anything where I could harm children,...& I get sick of zombies & such, they are quite annoying. I will check out Arcanum, thanks.

Arcanum is amazing. Try to imagine Tolkien's Middle-Earth going through the Industrial Revolution and you will have an idea of what to expect. Plus, we have a Titanic-like airship crashing right at the start of the game.

The only major flaw for me was that it takes ages to get going in the beginning. It's fine the first 1 or 2 times but you're going to get sick of it incredibly quickly if you want to try a few new character builds.

Meanwhile, would it work on my computer, since mine is a Windows 7 & this game seems to be meant for older computers?

You know what? I am quite concerned that this "Arcanum" game is really old & outdated! It looks as though it is abandoned & the sites are all dead & not up to date! & nobody is answering my question on whether or not it would be compatible on my Windows 7 pc! HOW FRUSTRATING! I mean, here I am, willing to try something new, yet nobody is guaranteeing me that it will actually work you know? Please advise?

I only recall a few child NPC's in fallout. Basically if you don't massacrer a friendly town (I.E one that you can trade with), then you won't be killing kids.
And a head shot with a shotgun usually kills zombies.

Um, I am feeling quite frustrated that nobody is answering this part of it!

Frustrating,...still,...noone answers,...noone is telling me about compatability,.....noone is telling me why the fansites are dead,...if the game is abandoned....extremely frustrating indeed to be teased about a game that no longer is, or noone answers me how I can get it, if there is a patch to make it compatible,...frustrating,..... :(

I would imagine that something that worked with windows 98 would work with windows 7, I could be wrong, but it seams like it might.

My computer has a lot of compatibility issues w/ all things below Vista. I think it may be because I have 64-bit & the others were 32-bit? W/e that means, I am terrible w/ computers! I must learn to be better, but I don't know if I can learn much at the age of 46,...

The age thing is a mindset thing. You can learn if you really want to. That said, it may not be worth the effort. I would imagine that you could get around compatability issues with a bit of problem solving but if you don't know what you're doing or how to learn that kind of thing it might be better to go with something new.

With that said the Fallout games are plagued with problems. The one I bought would crash after an hour of play without exception. I was forced to play the game in small doses. Apparently the company thinks they are popular enough to release an unfinished product to the market. And I guess they're right since the sequel was apparently just as bad.

I might recognise Dragon Age but it's not an easy game to jump into if you're not used to that style of gameplay.
