Are there any video games that result in a sensory overload?

Not that I recall... it's mostly when the brightness is too high to cause epilepsy... as an example.
Though it mostly depends on the setup of the technology used (television, PC, smartphone etc.)

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 did this to me, as does any fighting game where you have team members (MVC2, KOF etc). Fighting games in general do this to me. Also back when I use to play WoW pvp as a warlock in arena and BGs I had 30-40 keybinds and would get MEGA sensory overload and die so fast while my frost mage had a fraction of those keys and I could hop in circles spamming ice lance to kill most people. Arena in general for any class was sensory overload for me because I'm bad and would always fall back on spamming stuff and forget something important and pay dearly for it. We never got far beyond the lowest arena ranking but I swear every match with our team was a literal fight to survive -or- the opposite team parading around naked like jackasses.
RTS games also give me sensory overload, which I've been trying to get past because I love Starcraft.
I also think people are confusing "sensory overload" with "epilepsy".

Oh no need to apologize, I'm sorry. I guess lots of flashing lights and stuff could over load the senses too, I just have a very different definition of "sensory overload" in my head. To me its like when you get a ton of stuff on your plate all at once or when you're expected to do or react so much in a little amount of time.
When you put it that way then a lot of games can give a sensory overload.
If anything I try to overthink what I do. Then other times I analyse the situation.

I do actually agree with most of the WoW stuff, haha.
I personally think that it's incredibly hard to use a shedload of macro's... Currently playing an UH DK, so I have macro's for my ghoul's attacks... Stun, leap, transform, claw, huddle, ghoul heal, lichborne selfheal... Then I've got the macro's for /focus silence /focus mind freeze, /focus ghoul stun/leap... Then I have to decide wether to use scourge strike, necrotic strike or festering strike... Against DPS it's easy enough(spam SS) but against healers I usually just spam NS, even though that's quite bad since NS does a lot less damage than SS... At times I'm so confused that I just start spamming chains of ice
It's all so much that I often just 'lock up' and completely get lost in what I'm supposed to do, haha...

I guess I have had it in some RTS games, I tend to get blown away with having to pay attention to multiple battles that can happen, expansion, research, and resource management. There can be things popping up to tell me things, different sounds, and the forces in combat just throw me off. Still try though.
And I tried a while back at playing Final Fantasy XIII, my first real game of the Final Fantasy game and I was expecting that I could take my time between moves and think, and enjoy the atmosphere, but the game turned out to be really stressful where I could take no time to think in battles, and I just felt a bit overloaded.

This, totally this!
I'm usually great at attacking/defending. But attacking AND defending, while micro-ing(I'm OK at macro-ing) usually is my downfall...

Oh my god, I haven't played WoW in nearly a year (no plans to come back) but I always hated having to focus stuff and at one point in arenas it actually started hindering me because I had a macro for focus polymorph and regular and it was a lot easier for me to do the latter. Warlock was just..absolutely painful, even in pve. BC and WOTLK weren't even that bad since I mained a warlock then..it feels like its been forever.
I had a DK as well that I tanked the start of cataclysm. I had a ton of keys, not quite as many as my warlock, but they were pretty useful. I had a nice little macro to gobble up my ghoul. I never did pvp with her though My ex-friend and I had an arena team of mage-DK. He could be such an a**hole though because he could think a little bit less and not die as easy as me, oh I could survive quite well as a mage, but I feel like it was more active and less passive. Regardless, I think we all ended up with our own unique brands of sensory overload, he stopped wanting to pvp and everytime I'd sign on he would want to do LFR *puke*.
I have this issue in RTS games too. The hardest battles are where you need to wisely keep pumping out units to survive onslaughts of the enemy while steadily moving forward. Its fun but it very draining. The famous Blizzard "survive at base for 15-20 minutes" type missions are always easiest for me. I just fortify all my defenses, get on task and am ready. I also hate it when I'm making an offensive strike and something like a lone unit, like a flyer, comes to attack my bases and I realize I don't have any type of air defense and I get screwed and lose a bunch of buildings to a mutalisk/void ray/hippo/flying machine/wyvern rider.
Also do you mean FF13 is your first "real" FF or that you dived into the real portion of the game where you can explore? I tried playing the game and holy s**t was it the definition of sensory overload and not even in a meaningful way. I just spammed my attacks and killed everything until suddenly I was dying and nothing made any sense anyway (story and gameplay wise). A lot of new jrpgs give me this feeling and its why I don't play them much anymore. Tales games in particular are bad for this, I beat Tales of Phantasia and 'Destiny, but everything afterwards just overwhelmed the hell out of me.

I had played Kingdom Hearts, and I tried a bit of another game, but it was the first FF game, and I had seen videos of people playing the old turn based games. I don't like being rushed in a lot of RPGs, I like to be able to think through strategy rather than having to rely on my reflexes and getting really stressed.

You really should try WoW again, it's actually quite a lot of fun

I have epilepsy and I've never had a seizure playing video games even UMVC3. Nor sensory overload. With video games causing epilepsy, epilepsy is different for different people(I think).

I actually played Starcraft(the original) online for a time. That was some years ago, mind you. RTS games just aren't my thing. At least with the turn based variety, or TBS games, I can take my time, and think about things. I'm not really big into either, but Starcraft is such an awesome game. Believe it or not, I somehow managed to become a member of not one, but two clans(at different times). I was a White Tiger for a bit, then an Extreme Legend very briefly, before I stopped playing the game altogether. Both times I got in out of pity, not because I was ever any good at Starcraft. I could get through the campaign, but playing online was another story.
Anyways, I suppose I react too slowly to be effective at any fps, unless I play nothing but that shooter, in which case, I can become decent enough at it. It's always relative to that shooter though, and I lose that skill if I don't play the game regularly. I don't play fps though, so it's all a moot point really. But, I do play Uncharted 3 once a week, and I'm not particularly great at it. I can become good at it if I play it enough, but once a week(assuming I'm able to attend that week), just isn't cutting it. I remember being pretty good at UC2 when I played it all the time, but that was a long time ago, and I'm terrible at it now, since I rarely play it anymore. I haven't been big on competitive gaming in years, so maybe that's a big part of it. I play UC3 once a week for the social aspect of it, and it's with a group of forum friends.
