You can definitely see they were experimenting with the engine for this game when they added all those naval features for Fall of the Samurai add-on for Shogun 2

If it's as good as Shogun 2 was it will certainly be worth the wait

^^^ I hope so!

I really loved the first RTW, but I was very disappointed in the naval warfare.

I mean, sure, Rome was mainly a land power but some of its most important battles--during the first punic war and at Actium, for instance--were naval battles!

Also, I really hope they can find a better way to simulate proper historical factions and civil wars... But I'm sure that if they don't. some modders will. There were some very good historical mods for the last game. :)
