I don't understand, two of my friend said they have beaten Halo 4's campaign in one day on Legendary? How do they do it? I'm on level 8 right now and have been playing it on Normal. I have to say, it's been the most frustrating campaign I have ever played in a Halo game. Seriously, it's difficulty ruined the fun for me.

I've gotten about three fourths of the way through all previous Halo games on Legendary. I wish there was a difficulty between Heroic and Legendary.

Beaten, no. Do I know for sure I could do it if I actually bothered to own a Halo game? Yes.

FPS campaigns are almost always easy for me. A little basic strategy and thinking about they maps layout, and everything dies.

Watch some legendary runs if you are stuck.

I think I managed to beat the first game on Legendary, a lot of tries were required, I may be wrong though as it was rather difficult.

Halo 2 on Legendary is too broken, enemies have way too good accuracy and stick yourself out of cover can kill in seconds, I think I actually tried sneaking past enemies.

I am pretty sure I have managed to beat Halo 3 on Legendary, though some bits did require some creative thinking like taking advantage of team mates, like giving them good weapons, the needle pure Flood were SOBs.

I know I beat ODST on Heroic *checks achievments* I seem to not beaten it on Legendary yet, I know that the hub world can be a bit pain and the loss of energy shield can be a problem.

I have beaten Reach on Legendary, actually was not too hard, use the right abilities (hologram mostly), use the night vision to spot foes and go at it, actually felt like the easiest Legendary campain.

Have not tried Halo 4 yet, mostly been playing multiplayer, I have gotten a rather good grasp of how stealth is meant to be used, use crouch while active camo is on to not be seen, although it does not work against Prometheans. I have tried my hand at the campain that is meant for multiple players by myself, can be kind of difficult, mostly been having problems with the prometheans. The little ones seem best dealt with a head shot weapon like Carbine to the glowing mouth, knights require sustained fire, or some good misdirection with holograms seem effective to get an assassination. I still think Jackles are best dealt with by a rapid fire weapon, shoot there opening then continue on their body, Elites still require some creativity good news is that taking them out still scatters Grunts for a bit, but the Hunters seem as tough as ever.

Now I have not tried on Legendary yet, still doing a single player campain on Normal, but I see no reason to rush. Still don't have much idea yet on the pros/cons of Assault rifle, Storm Rifle and Promethean version who's name I forget right now. Also not sure about the exact effect of the Promethean Grende yet.

The only people I know that can play this game on Legendary are those who are so addicted to it, they neglect their other interests and just sit in their rooms playing it until 3 AM.

(Not that I'm saying it's a super bad thing, I do that all the time with various video games.)

I've beaten 1/2/3 on Legendary many many times~
Haven't bought Reach or 4 since I don't have Xbox anymore.

I think Halo is one of the few FPS series that does difficulty fun~
It's not like CoD where you die in one second on hardest difficulty, but there's sometimes situations that you just die over and over again.
When I first played Halo 1 I tried it on normal, but it just felt too easy, then I tried it on Heroic and it just felt perfect!
Personally playing any Halo game on Heroic is the way it's meant to be played.
Legendary is for your 2nd playthrough.

Probably it's the same for Reach and 4.

tldr: Anything below Heroic is for babies!! :3

It is much easier to do online or LAN'd up playing with people in campaign. Perhaps your friends did that?

He may have, I'll have to ask him. If he did by himself, I'll be impressed, lol.

It is really not that hard. The lower difficulties are rather simple in my opinion, mostly run and gun through this and that monster with little concern. Legendary requires a bit more thoughtfulness about your actions as well the AI. Now try not dying on legendary, that is a challenge. ** I do think it helps to be skilled in multi-player, where being alert, with a quick draw, and an accurate shot matters the most.

Me and friends got through halo 1 on legendary, they would play high difficulties all the time and I played on easy fairly often... But they still got spanked in multiplayer if I wanted to shh them. Play whichever difficulty you enjoy, it's supposed to be fun not tedious or a competition. :)
