I ordered the new Vita package with it, couldn't beat the price with the game and a memory card included.

I cannot get excited for any franchise that literally pumps out a new game every single year. If they called it what it really is, Call of Duty 9, people might start paying attention to 'wait, didn't I buy this game last year?', but they are trying to fool people with alternating subtitles every year to make it seem like its not the 9th entry in a series that isn't even a decade old yet.

^ Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, Guitar Hero, The Sims, World of Warcraft, Medal of Honor, all of them are doing the same thing. As long as it provides a few hours of entertainment, whats the harm? All video games are basically the same, do thing A so thing B happens so that thing C can happen. Shoot a zombie in the head so you can save the mushroom princes from a meth dealing evil emperor while avoided the ubiquitous lava and or water that for some reason kills you when you fall in it (may have gotten my games mixed up there)..

Sure - COD comes out with a new game each year, but I don't buy any infinity ward games. For instance - COD Modern Warfare 3. I didn't buy that because I have a preference for Treyarch and I'm loyal to that. I don't need to buy it each year.. so I don't. I've been playing Black Ops for the past 2 years, so I'm good. GTA V , same thing. They haven't made a game in years, but it's quality. Games like Red Dead Redemption.. those are original, I love it! But COD is like two franchises in one brand.

It's just about the same game every time, candy coated with new levels, and a few minor tweaks and add ons. I can't get excited for it anymore. I might rent it for a month though, at the beginning things are actually kind of fun because there are some new things. After that, everything starts to feel like the same linear spawn rape fest, noobtubes and zero skill RC cars included. COD could also use some destructable environments. Oh well, it's an arcade type shooter. What can you expect...

No, those games are not doing the same thing. How many of those titles are put out on an annual basis? Guitar Hero was, but that eventually crashed and burned because of that, the way COD needs to. How many of those franchises, between 2003-2012 have had 9 main entries in their franchise come out? None. Keep in mind Call of Duty would be even higher if you included the handheld spin-offs, or the PS2/GC/Xbox era console games. And even if you include those for the other franchises, they aren't released every single year either.

But if you seem to think all video games are basically the same thing, why do you even keep playing them?

I just have a very low opinion of things put out annually with little thought put into them. Its not just Call of Duty, all the sports games do it as well. And even the movie industry has been doing it with things like Saw and Paranormal Activity.

I'm pretty damn Aspie when it comes to COD - I don't play regular things like TDM anymore, I only play wager matches specifically sticks and stones because I like the algorithms, aerodynamics of the ballistic knife and cross bow. It's neat to always know where the enemy is, and memorize the sequences and spawn points.

I'm the opposite, I prefer Infinity Ward to Treyarch. My husband prefers Treyarch to Infinity Ward. So, our household usually has at least one of each game.
