Hi. I get it that KOTOR 1 is a fairly old game. But I have a question. I am trying to follow this Darkside walkthrough, right? BUT, according to that page, it reads:
"Walk around the little village and talk to people. Namely, talk to Gendar and
Rukil. They will both be very kind. Gendar will tell you about mission, and how
they wander the sewers. He will also tell you to go through the gate to get to
the sewers. Rukil will talk about the promise land, and how is apprentice is
lost. Tell him you will find his apprentice. Then walk back over to the gate.
Igear will stop you, and tell you if you give him the journals that he will
reward you. Say that you will, and later on, when you do acquire the journals,
give them to him for dark side points.
This is in the "Getting to the Under City" quest. However, MORE than frustratingly enough, I finish talking to Gendar & Rukil, right? I even asked Gendar about Mission & how to get to the sewers & also said I would find Rukil's apprentice as it said to, right? WELL, so then I "walk back over to the gate" as it said to, right? THEN at that point, according to the walkthru, that merchant, Igear is supposed to stop me & ask me to find journals, right? BUT guess what! Does he stop me? NO WAY!! !! You know, I did not even hear about any journals to begin w/! !! WHAT journals??? Please help me? How do I get Igear to stop me a 2nd time to ask me for the journals? Did I miss something? Was there someone else who I was supposed to talk to? I do not know what to do here! I am like, totally BEYOND frustrated, you know??? Please help me out! Anybody?

Thanks. However, I am trying to play darkside & I do not see any outcast corpse that I could loot the journal off of. The one (Hendar) that gets killed by the rakghoul does not carry anything to loot. I am beyond frustrated even more so now!
Also, in talking to Rukil about the Undercity, I am not sure he gave me that journal quest! He gave me the quest to find his apprentice, but not the journal one, you know?

I don't think so, I saw Canderous intimidating gang members before I got to the undercity. I did the whole Endar Spire, Getting to the Lower City, & Gadon's Deal thing, then went to the Under City, at which point, I only got this far:

side ******, haven't you heard Yoda preach before? "Fear leads to hate, hate
leads to anger, anger leads to suffering?" Well, she won't try to attack you,
but will call you a monster after the guy dies. Dark side points! ^_^

Have you found the Apprentice's Journal and returned it to Rukil yet? He'll only talk to you about the Promised Land once he's got his hands on that journal.
If you're past that point, then you'll need to head down into the sewers and find the remaining two journals, which you'll need to give to Igear if you intend to roleplay a darksider.
Don't forget to grab the rakghoul serum, either, if you haven't already, because Zax the Hutt at the Bounty Office in Javyar's Cantina will pay you 1,000 credits for it.

You know what? I was able to retrieve the journal & the serum successfully, BUT you know what else? MORE than frustratingly enough, guess what??? When I tried to re-enter the village gate, do you know what happened???? The game will NOT let me in! This is a simple single-player game & I should NOT be having this difficulty! I am totally sure nobody else had this! SO what do I do? HOW do I get back in the village? I certainly can NO longer enter thru the main gate! Any ideas? I sure have NONE! I am MAD!
