Hi. I have a PSP and I noticed that my water damage sticker under the battery looks like this:

I am thinking the dots mean my PSP has been in contact with water but I haven't been able to find reliable information. Some places say it has been in contact with water and others not in contact. I know I never dropped it in water but the PSP was used when I got it, My PSP is a PSP1000.

I have a PSP-1001 early fat model and it was brought brand new back in the day. Never been in contact with water that I know of and mine looks exactly like that.

Does the PSP work? Why are you questioning rather or not it has been in contact with water. I am just curious is why I ask.

I bought it used, so I was thinking the previous owner dropped it in water. Even though It works perfectly. Also I found conflicting information on how the sticker is supposed to look like when it has not been in contact in water.

Well oddly enough, like you said, most sites say that the red dots indicate water damage. Could have been caused by humidity, I really wouldn't worry if it works unless you were planning on reselling. Maybe those websites are just wrong?

I am like 99% sure mine should not have those dots if they really do indicate water damage.

My PSP has those red dots too. It has never been in a water accident, it's working fine, and I had it for over 4-5 years now.

I've had about 7 different PSPs and none of them seemed to have had a water damage sticker on them.....? :?

There was also this post by Best Buy themselves that I found troubling: http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Manufactur ... td-p/81511

Well atleast I am not alone with the red dots.

PS. The sticker is located in the battery compartment.
