I plan on taking lots of pictures and sharing my experience, but I'm also a little nervous, since I've never planned a trip on my own before. I hope everything works out. Is anyone else going this year? If so, maybe I'll see you there, though I've never been to an event like this before, so I wouldn't know what the odds of that are. Anyways, I'm excited, and I want to spread the news to my fellow forum users.:D

I wish. I'm going to be so busy, though. Maybe next time.

Can't go. Too expensive. :(

Have fun, though! :)

I hope you realize that it's not open to the public. You need to be part of the industry, at the very least you need to have a press badge.

That would make me nervous as hell with the crowds and such, so I probably would never go.

I do. I got invited by Sony. It's something their trying out with high standing individuals on their forum, known as MVPs. This is the first year they're doing it, and they're going to see how it goes before they decide if they're going to do it next year. I probably won't go next year though. There were only so many slots available, and if it happens again next year, then I'd gladly let someone who couldn't go this year have the opportunity. E3's an event every gamer wants to go to, but few get to, so going once is good enough for me. By the way, members of the public can purchase a pass for the show room only, but it costs about $1000, which is pretty steep. I think it's more like $750 or something if you buy early, but it goes up after a certain point.

I fall under the category of "industry affiliate". Plus, I get to go to Sony's press conference, and will be attending a bunch of other planned stuff. I'll have some free time to visit other booths, but I'm not supposed to be late for the planned stuff. Still, some of it sounds pretty neat, and I'll be getting some free swag, so I'm looking forward to all of it.

Cool.
I'd kill to be at Sony's press event and play me some Killzone : Shadowfall.

Well, it turns out that not only will I be attending demo sessions with a couple of Sony's first party devs(Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studios), but also a couple big name third party devs(Activision and Konami). I'm not that into Activision, but I'm sure it'll be an ok session. I'll likely spend most of my free time visiting the booths of publishers of Japanese titles, but I'll have enough mainstream stuff to share for those who are counting on me to get some scoops on AAA titles. :)

I'm all packed and ready to go to E3! I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning. My flight arrives in LA around 1:26PM. :D

It's actually not as hard to get into as it is often made to be.

I've had a few chances to go myself over the years, but I ended up deciding against it; probably for the best, in my case. I tend to view it as sort of a bad comedy reel in recent years.

I think this year it's going to be a blast. Nintendo announcing some HD iterations of popular franchises like Mario Kart, Super Mario Smash Bros, etc. Both Sony and Microsoft are going to make a big swing and show tons of games. It's going to be an exciting year for gamers.

Well, it was a long but fulfilling day. We got the wrong building, and had bad directions so we barely made it to the conference on time, and didn't end up going to the right place to get our wristbands, so we ended up going in with the crowd of regular people. We got good seats though, and the conference blew my mind. All I can say is, goodbye Xbox. Also, I got an exclusive interview with BBC Radio on camera. So, it was a great day overall. Oh, just for fun: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=JwYUGtI6 ... wYUGtI6guY

Well, today was a lot of fun. Quantic Dream's tech demo was a highlight for me, as was Beyond Two Souls. I'm even more excited for the game after playing it. It takes some getting used to, but so did Heavy Rain. BTS actually allows you to walk around without holding down a button, and it's way more heavy on action. I played Dragon's Crown, which plays a lot like Golden Axe, but with more elements. I got pictures with a few of Sony's mascots, and even met J-Tight and Skydiddy from The Tester Season 3. The session with Guy Longworth was great, but short. Still, I was able to socialize with others from my group. It was a long day, but it was awesome. and that was only day 1 of the showfloor.

Eh, depends on the individual player, I suppose. I know quite a few people who didnt even want to watch any of it. .....though I also know enough that definitely wont shut UP about certain games that have been shown.

I knew full well going into this year that there wouldnt be even one thing on display that I'd care about enough to buy, and I was correct on that front. Definitely wont be wanting any of the next gen consoles.

I still followed enough of the whole thing to know about the games being shown, mostly so that when those friends of mine inevitably ramble about them I at least know what they're talking about. But mostly I watched this year's E3 to see the whole Sony VS Microsoft thing that was going on; and I wasnt at all disappointed about THAT part. Some of that was even funnier than I thought it'd be.

At least the show was likely entertaining for those that actually do care about the games enough to want to go. So that's good, I guess.

Today was even more awesome than yesterday. I met Nolan North and some other voice actors. The Natsume booth was so much fun. The girl running it was gorgeous. Oh, and they gave out plushies to everyone who completed a stamp card by playing four of their demos. Those were the highlights of my day. There's a lot more to it, of course, but it would take too long to go into all the details.
