who else would prefer to play a game from a system of there era then the new systems? dont get me wrong i think the technological inovations in the new games are great. but somthing about ps1 or n64 just brings back memories from my childhood that xbox 360 dosnt offer.

Hm, yeah, I do this alot. I tend to not like most things that come out for the current consoles these days; the games are too easy/simple, there'way, way too many cutscenes, there's too many copycat games and hardly anything truly original, and there's absurd levels of focus on certain genres (FPS, among others). The list goes on. And on. I do play many modern PC games, but that's a whole different landscape.

Consoles though, I go back to the old ones often. My favorites have always been the NES, and the Atari 2600 (though I'm using a 7800 for that now). There's lots of stuff I like on both of these, and they very often offer a level of challenge and fun that I dont get from the recent console stuffs.

I do, but I don't have most systems the original games are on. I will play ps2 games on my ps2 though, even though I can play them on my ps3. I'm glad Sony stuck with their original controller up till the ps3, because it makes ps1 classics feel 99.99% authentic, which is a plus. I'm kind of torn about their decision to change it, but they kept the key aspects of the classic Dualshock intact, despite the DS4 being their biggest redesign to date. With everything else, I have no choice but to play it on a system I own. It does drive me up the wall that Ninty changes their controller every gen, but there's not much I can do about that. I considered buying a GameCube controller for the wii ports of RE 0 and REmake, but I decided it wasn't worth investing in one for two games.

It's a good idea to have a GC controller or two, there's a lot of great Wii games that support it, and almost every GameCube game supports it and is playable on the Wii =P

I like "Joust". Something about that low-tech precision appeals to me.

I still have an affinity for NES and SNES games. Lots of them.
