It's a cool idea, but if you're going to do such a big project, why wouldn't you make the extra effort to pronounce them all right?

15 years of the Pokemon franchise being around, and this makes me laugh. How far we've come! XD

Almost eight minutes in, and they finally get to my favorite pokemon. Image

I like a few others, but Grovyle is way up there! :D

My brother was actually around when the anime first debuted, and since then, he's known many things about Pokemon.

He actually has a Dragonite with five perfect IVs, along with the three elemental punches.

The song is insane, puts into perspective exactly how many there are now. I can't even recall some of the names based on just their pictures, at least I can memorise most of their typing's.

One of the interesting things about newer Pokemon designs is that they love to "trick" you with what typing they are.

Here's a Pokemon called Inkay:

Image

Water?
Water/Poison?
Water/Fairy?

Nope, it's Dark/Psychic. 8O

Here's a Pokemon called Goomy:

Image

Normal?
Water?
Poison?
Bug?

Nope, it's Dragon. 8O

Here's a Pokemon called Vibrava:

Image

Bug/Flying?

Nope, it's Ground/Dragon. 8O

I couldn't agree anymore with you here; I honestly thought that Inkay was in fact a water/poison type.

And when I had my first wild Goomy encounter, I had no clue what that thing was. 8O

And on an interesting note, I was convinced for quite some time that Dusknoir was a dark/ghost type. Being the enthusiast I was, I couldn't have been anymore wrong; he's actually pure ghost. 8O

Wanna know what else doesn't make sense? Why does Dusknoir and his evolutionary line take regular damage from psychic-type attacks?

I think I can answer that one.

Ghost types have always taken neutral damage from Psychic attacks.

The reason you think otherwise is that in Generation 1, there were only three Ghost-type Pokemon: Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar. And all three are actually Ghost/Poison. It's the Poison type that makes them take double damage from Psychic attacks.

That might be it.

Thanks for clarifying.

I too was surpised by Inkay. Imagine my surprise as it turned out to be immune to my Meowstic's psychic type attack, and was not weak to a grass attack before I eventually found out it was a Dark Psychic. Which would have usually been great, but I was looking for a Pokémon to use Surf, and Meowstic had the psychic type reserved. Apparently even its egg groups are water 1 and 2 despite the typing.
