AVOID DEAD ISLAND!
Heck, I'll give you my copy as I don't think I'll ever finish playing it.
1. It's a game that promised so much but utterly failed. It looks nowhere near as good as the previews make you think it will be.
2. It's geared for multiplayer. You have only 4 characters, each with their own specialty. You are supposed to be able to play solo, but some parts really need at least two people to manage the waves of zombies.
3. Along with #2 above, the save game is bugged. It doesn't save and reload at key points. It reloads you with what you have left. So, if you die going into a fight and expend half your resources before you die, you come back with that, now what you had going in at first. This can make a part of the game impossible to beat (as it was for me), and as you can't load a prior save to try again, the plot is broken, and you must start from scratch.
4. The game is overall tiresome to play. Most games have the "go there and do that then come back and get another mission" nonsense, but Dead Island takes it to a whole new level of awful. As one critic wrote, by the time you get near the end of the game, you have long since stopped caring about any of the characters in the game. At some point you just start rooting for the damn zombies.
