PS3 controller on PC without MotionInJoy!
I just wanted to post this here, after having just found it earlier. I'd been using the unholy nightmare program known as MotionInJoy.... quite possibly the single worst program I'd ever used.... to allow the use of a PS3 controller with a PC (I dont like the 360 controllers one bit).
And anyone that's ever used it knows just how AWFUL it truly is.
Well, finally, after..... so very long of being stuck with that horrible thing, I found something else.

Worked instantly for me, and now I never have to DO anything to it ever again. Plug it in, and BAM, it just works. Most games will also now see the PS3 controller as a 360 controller (as does Windows itself), which means you dont have screwball issues when trying to use it with a game that recognizes 360 controllers on it's own. Perfectly compatible with Joy2Key as well, which is good since I use that for damn near everything.
Wether or not anyone here will find this useful, I cant say, but I figured I'd share it just in case.
thanks for the info...I wonder if this will work alright with my dualshock 4?
I got this for Christmas hoping to use it on pc but it didn't work out so well....even though people said it would...(should have researched more)
I'll give it a go...nothing to lose...
plus I have a few ps3 controllers sitting next to me I could try out =)

Yeah, I rather doubt that the PS4 one will work at all.... it's a very different controller and likely there is no drivers for it.
The problem of course is the simple fact that it's a Sony device; being that Microsoft is their competitors, there's no way they'd make anything of theirs easy to use in Windows. Things like the one I linked to here are always made by someone else. But since the 360's damn controllers are so annoyingly popular, there wasnt much demand for a PS3 driver, and it took quite some time for one to come out..... and when it did, it was MotionInJoy, the horrid nightmare program.
Chances are, it's going to be quite awhile before anyone whips up a set of drivers for the PS4 controller.
Still, indeed it cannot hurt to try it if you've already got it there.
well the little I've tried the controller on the pc was pretty neat...got a few games to work with no extra drivers or canoodling
I did find some drivers for the dualshock 4 and unlike xbox one controller sony has said it will support basic functionality on the PC (very strange if you think about it...Microsoft abandoning its pc users..)
I cannot stand the xbox controller....it's too bulky....and not comfortable...buttons are too sticky...
I burrowed a cable from my aunt a month ago and tried it for a couple hours....but the controller didn't come with a usb micro cord..so I need to buy one of those to use it....to try these drivers or the other ones....looking forward to it though =)
