E3 nearly a week away!
June 9th! WOO! HOO! SO PSYCHED! Counting down the days!! !! ! WOO! HOO!! It seems a lot is already being mention Halo 5 2015 or pushed to 2015 themselves Quantam Break and Witcher 3 The order 1886 all 2015 titles. So that leaves the question WHERE are the 2014 titles????? If the rumors are true nothing for PS4/Xbox One for me IMO. Uncharted is possibly 2015 or dare I say 2016. If Nintendo just touches upon some Wii U games from 1yr. 1/2 ago Yarn Yoshi,X,Bayonetta 2, SMT X FE SURELY those are all fairly along if not DONE! and ready for a 2014 holiday or at least early 2015 launch.
2014 may be the Wii U's best holiday if all those get released along with Smash that'd be a good Holiday line up. Yarn Yoshi kiddy Smash for fighters Nintendo hardcore Bayonetta 2 more darker stuff mature and SMT X FE (with the cross promotion last summer) and those games getting shown trailers THEY SHOULD BE CLOSE TO DONE! OR they have been Scrapped one! (Not sure if they are I REALLY want SMT X FE) LOVE the Fire Emblem franchise. Oh and a concrete Smash date AND Zelda Wii U teaser Oh and Hyrule Warriors holiday 2014 then IMO Holiday 2014 is a LOCK for Wii U. All that for this year would make me run out and get one!! ! 3DS needs more than Pokemon Remakes so 1 or 2 more 1st party titles holiday 2014 and Nintendo has an AWESOME HOLIDAY LINE UP!
Anything you are excited to see or hope to see wishful thinking for E3 2014.

Word is Nintendo are trying to hold their own thing at the same time that will be mostly online and will largely be out of normal E3 thing. Undoubtedly be Smash news, I have been following it quite a bit. Actually there might even be a bit of a tournament with it.

From Sony i'm expecting to see some God of War 4 and Final Fantasy XV stuff.
They should also at least say something about that freaking The Last Guardian game. It's been years since the last time we heard about it!
Other than that i'm reeeeally excited to see some new Zelda game for wii u and (who knows), maybe a announcement of the Majora's Mask remake on 3DS.
If some new Super Mario game comes i would also be very happy (:
Well YES they are doing a Smash Tournament with some of the best Smash players around YA! Nintendo seems like it's going to have a KILLER lineup IMO especially if ALL I mention gets released this holiday. I agree not worth getting PS4/Xbox One yet but usually 1st-2nd year SUCKS! then 1st 2nd Xmas GODLY AAA MUST HAVE comes out otherwise 1st and 2nd year usually sucks! I don't like graphically what the 1st few years are then the last 1 or 2 people really understand the power of the machines and can crank out games that look amazing like TLOU or GTA V. GTA V is actually playable! Great lighting bright sun you can see the characters etc. compared to IV everything was dark could hardly make out the characters AWFUL lighting as good as OOT MY ASS!
Plus the car physics suck in IV compared to V. HUGE games like Skyrim will IMO stand the test of time. The cross gen ports are really holding back what some games could really do and needing to get a game out within 6 months - 1 year of release they aren't pushing the systems 100% to there fullest.
Overall I'm still excited for E3 hoping for that AAA 1 year release (Gears,Uncharted,Galaxy all 1year releases) ALL EPIC! Don't think we'll see that this year unless something SHOCKS us. Nintendo has me glued to the computer with there Direct. That plus Smash tournament + SECRET 3DS game Wed. night 1hr. 30min. roundtable!! ! PLUS Nintendo treehouse stuff all week. NINTENDO 100% this year! COME ON KNOCK OUR SOCKS OFF THIS HOLIDAY NINTENDO!
I usually just watch it for the fact that it can be sheer comedy gold sometimes, really. I've no need for any of the new consoles, probably ever, and sure as bloody hell dont want the handhelds, so none of the actual games there are worth anything at all to me. Even if I still gave a crap about the consoles, they'd still likely have nothing I'd want, as I tend to avoid AAA games like the plague due to nearly all of them using trends I cannot stand.
But watching these guys make total idiots of themselves every year.... ahhh, that part, it's still worth it. Particularly when it happens to Nintendo, since I loathe them. But pretty much anyone will do.
I want to see
-Fallout
-Minecraft for the PS4
-That sequel to Homefront
-I probably won't be getting it unless I can upgrade, but The Last of Us for PS4
-Star Wars Battlefront 3

This is why I'm hesitant to even get an Xbox One and PS4. Every game I'm excited for is on the Xbox 360 and PS3 anyway. I'd rather keep buying Xbox 360s and PS3s than spend tons of money on consoles that barely have any PS4 and Xbox One exclusive titles that aren't going to be available to Xbox 360 and PS3.
If you ask me, I don't think E3 will be that impressive this year even though a PaRappa the Rapper for the PS4 would make me smile....it would probably be avaliable on PS3, too

I love E3 week...it's like a holiday for me lol.
Mostly looking forward to Nintendo's E3 Direct for Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Monolith's new RPG ( particularly an actual title. X is another game from Nintendo so it bugs me when people call the new game X ), FE X SMT, Hyrule Warriors, the new Wii U Zelda, NFC and whatever surprises they have in store ( PLEASE let Golden Sun 4 and a new F-Zero be among them... )
Aside from Nintendo, I'm hoping/excited to hear announcements of and/or info on: PS4 Ratchet & Clank, Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XV, MGSV: The Phantom Pain, Saints Row 5, Resident Evil 7, a new Mega Man, Fallout 4, Beyond Good & Evil 2, the new Assassin's Creed games, Batman: Arkham Knight and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Yes, I know some of those games are full on wishful thinking but I really want to see them get made...

All great choices
I do wonder what will define THIS GEN. A trailer review countdown mention Assassin's Creed really told you this was the beginning of a new era with PS3 and 360. PS4/Xbone NEED something fresh that says "THIS is WHY you NEED this NEW console!"
This is the thing that always loses me both with E3, and the consoles in general.
People go on about the games that will "define" the generation, but.... so far, there's been literally nothing aside from yet more clones of the games that "defined" *cough* last gen. This includes games that have only been announced, not released. The unending FPS swarms, the GTA clones (Watchdogs, already... sigh), the unending FPS swarms, cutscene-tastic RPGs, the unending FPS swarms, and more of the GTA clones. I really have ALOT of trouble remembering the last time something truly interesting came out, instead of yet another iteration of something that had already been repeated 30 billionty times. This is one reason why I dumped the consoles entirely, because they've been stuck in a rut for.... many years now. It is unlikely that this will change.
Every now and then.... rarely, really.... there's something more interesting that will come out, from one of the smaller and braver publishers, but these things almost always get pushed back into the "niche" category and forgotten by many. The only true exception in a LONG time was Demon's Souls, which inexplicably exploded into a well-known series.... and kudos to those devs for actually trying something new and interesting. The in-development-for-a-billion-years game from the makers of Ico *may* be another exception, but nobody knows just yet.
As much as I despise Nintendo, they seem to be the only ones willing to take some risks and put out somewhat creative things (every now and then)... but their obsession with gimmicks puts many people off.
It WOULD be nice to see something genuinely new and interesting come out of this conference, but due to the very extreme probability of that NOT happening, well.... this is why it's just a comedy reel to me these days, and nothing more.

Interesting view I see some of your points but counter some of them IMO. Red Dead Redemption is a western GTA clone YES! But a GREAT western GTA clone at that! Mass Effect trilogy is a space opera that with its lore is video game Star Wars. Games such as Fallout 3,Skyrim,Mass Effect all WRPG's as they are known give you HOURS of content. HUGE worlds to explore. Perhaps there were cover systems BEFORE Gears of War but AFTER Gears of War is when everyone became a cover system clone. Everything from GTA to Uncharted copied that system. Just as everyone copied the platforming of SM64 or targeting system of OOT. We owe a HUGE DEBT of gratitude to Nintendo for there contributions to gaming. Fire Emblem is mention up there with the FF Tactics series and Ogre Battle stuff. JRPG's are me too copy cats sure Bravely Default on 3DS is a rip off of CLASSIC FF YES and I agree 100% that genre has stagnated these past 6 years (this past gen.)
With Metal Gear previous games have done it better and perfected the stealth genre in my eyes another dragging genre this past gen. But if I didn't follow systems I'm personally miss the Gears of War that started a system in this case Cover system or SM64 platformers or OOT lock on targeting. It seems EVERY Gen has a me too copy game and I'm curious WHAT that game will be this gen. Halo everything FPS COD4 everything FPS BETTER multiplayer etc. So agree in some areas. But I'd hate to miss the ones that START something! That if it wasn't for X game than we might not have a certain gameplay system.
Neat views.
