Love the chess thinking mans type gameplay. No guns blazing give it thought and consideration. The newer games make it easier to level up than ever before but I plan on my replay to buy a bunch of DLC maps and tackle those + side quests so this play through will take me awhile. :-) What are your thoughts on the series. Started with Fire Emblem GBA hooked every since.

I've never played it, but I played tactical and story-based RPGs in my youth. This looks like a game I'd enjoy.

I have only played Awakening, but I have enjoyed it immensely. My only was worry was that I was afraid that it would end too quickly so I have kind of not played it in a while (a bad habit), which is probably silly as I was making sure to do random fights and DLC to pair off all the characters I could and then training and almost paired up the second group.

I'm one! I've played quite a few of them. One of the reasons it's one of my favorite Nintendo franchises is because of how it actually has plot! I love it for the game play as well. You should really try the rest of them. (Also the story for the 4th one is my favorites, and I believe it's one of the darkest Nintendo plots out there.)

Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (simply released as "Fire Emblem" outside of Japan) is one of my favorite RPGs ever, though I've never beaten it, nor have I really played any of the other games in the series. I'm kind of torn because I want to finish it before I try the other games, yet at the same time I almost never finish any of the RPGs I play anyway, as they tend to be really long and I tend to get stuck on them. :P

Anyway, has anyone ever noticed how similar Fluttershy from MLP: FiM is to Florina from FE7? I mean, Fluttershy is a pegasus, and Florina is a pegasus knight, and they both have similar personalities, mannerisms, and even hairstyles. Their names even start with the first two letters? Coincidence? I think not. Someone behind MLP: FiM was clearly a Fire Emblem fan. :P

I'm a HUGE Fire Emblem fan! I own every game localized to the US except Rekka No Ken/Blazing Sword ( the one released simply as Fire Emblem outside Japan )...though I've only beaten Path of Radiance out of the ones I own ( I've also beaten Rekka no Ken & Gaiden via emulators years ago ).

Heck, I was super excited when I unlocked Marth in Melee as I had seen the anime based on the original game. I was probably one of the few people who knew who he was before Smash Bros!

Ya I didn't know who he was. Kind of cool FE in Melee NEW games in Brawl Pit then NEW Kid Icarus hope some character in SSB 3DS/Wii U = NEW game in a couple years. Get the unknown character out there get people talking then WOW a game based around an SSB character that was a series. :-) THAT'D be COOL!

Yeah...even more reason to hope Alexandra Roivas from Eternal Darkness, Mike Jones from StarTropics and/or Takamaru from Murasame Castle turn out to be playable in the new Smash Bros games....or that the Ice Climbers return & end up with a reboot on the way.

I've played a bit of one of them because of the cross over game, Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem. I love the SMT series and figured I'd enjoy the upcoming Wii U game more if I'd played at least some Fire Emblem. The problem with games like Fire Emblem, is that I really enjoy them for a very short amount of time. I remember buying Advance Wars way back when it first came out, I loved it and it was pretty much all I played for about a week, then I never wanted to play it again. Same with Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced.
I really hope the combat is like SMT games, preferably the main series, not the spin-offs like Persona (not that I don't like the Persona games)
