On this date in 1980, Puck Man was released to Japanese arcades. When Midway released the game in the U.S. in October 1980, the name was changed to Pac-Man (to prevent the obvious game vandalism).

Happy 35th birthday, Pac-Man!

Where would we be without this game?

Nostalgia Overload! Pac-Man and his spin-offs were pretty well the Pokemon of my childhood. :) My brother and I had the old table-top game, the board game, and Ms. Pac-Man for the Atari 2600 (which was vastly superior to Pac-Man's version). Today I have a few Pac-items that were gifts from my brother in New Brunswick. He got them from a store called Geek Chic. :)

I remember playing Pac-Man first when I was maybe 6. To celebrate the day, I bought Pac-Man Museum for PS3. Annoyed that it is digital only but got it for a little under $5.
