My current faves include DiXit, Telestrations, Resistance (Avalon), Time's Up!, Cards Against Humanity...but my ultimate favourite is a game called CliXit, which I made up, which is a mash-up of Cluedo and DiXit (and very much like Mysterium but designed for two players).

I don't play at a hobby shop, but the last time we had friends over we played Dragonmaster and Concept.

Yeah, that game's pretty awesome, though I wish, for the price, it was just a little higher quality.

I've been thinking about getting it.

I just wish there WAS a hobby shop anywhere remotely nearby. I never get to play games like this. And they often look so interesting and fun, too...

Don't need a hobby shop, just do like we do; buy the game online, play it with friends in the comfort of your own home.

Ah, but you have to know people that give a crap about it. Everyone I know is all stereotypical FPS & JRPG focused gamers that dont really do much else. Heaven forbid they play a board game, which doesnt have guns OR anime girls, with simplistic mechanics and regenerating.... everything.

As a rule I dont do much gaming with them; only interests I share with them is fighting games, so that's about my only activity with them. Otherwise I keep to myself. Now, there USED to be a hobby shop, way back when, and I went there fairly often back in the day; not long after I'd graduated, that was. But it eventually fell just like all such shops here. We hardly even have book stores around here... there's *one* that I know of, within a 50-mile radius, and it's used books only... let alone something like that. It's.... unfortunate.

I love Elder Signs. Fantasy Flight makes some great games. If people would like we could get an internet gaming group together.

I'm sure there are plenty of board games that offer both of those... @_@

Sure, but they're not on a screen and moving. You have to, you know, move pieces and cards around. Apparently, that's not the same and therefore stupid. Sigh...

Sure makes me tired of FPS games and JRPGs even moreso than I would otherwise be, yep.

What gets me though is that they wont play board games because "well they're boring" but they absolutely WILL do the same damn map in Disgaea over and over and over and over for 5 straight hours to grind. And it... I just... I dont even.
