Hey, I'm fairly new here after being recommended to check this social community out and I just wanted to take a look at the forums and see how it goes.

So I did research back in my school years and discovered that people with Aspergers like myself tend to have a quirk that they're interested in. Mine has been video games for as long as I can remember.

A few years back, I got my Xbox 360 and made an effort in playing a lot of games I wanted to play. I came across Fallout 3, a post-nuclear apocalypse first and third-person action roleplaying game from Bethesda Game Studios. It's possibly one of the best games I have ever played.
Since then, I have discovered and played other titles not only to do with the Fallout series such as Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas but also other games from Bethesda. A great example of other games in their series include The Elder Scrolls, with games such as Oblivion and Skyrim.

With Fallout 4 to be coming out in the next few months and my recent return to modding Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, I wanted to ask;
How many people are looking forward to it?
Does anyone else here enjoy Bethesda titles?
Does anyone mod said titles?

I would love to get a response and just talk to people about this sort of thing, I love talking about games a lot more than the average man. :D

Fallout 1 and 2 were my favorite and have recently started playing Skyrim again.

I never got very far in Skyrim originally as life happens, but it has held up well and still plays and looks great.

My all time favorite game is Baldurs Gate II, it is worth a look if you haven't played it.
Over the years I have easily put 400+ hours into it and I still find things I haven't come across before.

I am a fan, I would even go so far as to say Skyrim may be the game I have played the most of, I had put some statistics a while back breaking down how much I put in for different playthroughs. I like the whole different world thing and how you have freedom in it, at first I tend to just play a game indicative of my playstyle, but I also became a fan of doing more role playing in the games. Like being mostly an archer assassin, using only magic, being a Templar, a thief, and a realistic playthrough where my character has to sleep, eat, and rely on illusion.

Despite my interest, I had liked Fallout but not exactly done a huge amount in it. I guess I have got excited and decided to buy some special editions so I could have the DLC of 3 and New Vegas. Was kind of wondering how to play again, wanted to roleplay some something a little different. And decided to role play as Metroid's Samus, a no charisma character with a focus on Energy weapons and explosives, with a specific plan to use power armour, quite different from previous characters I used. I want to eventually play the games as a bad guy, but it really hard to get my moral compass to allow me to do bad things.

I love Fallout (1, 2, and Wasteland), but I don't really care for Bethesda.

I have New Vegas and Wasteland 2, but haven't tried either of them yet.

Loved Elder Scrolls since Morrowind. Loved Skyrim. Big fan of the Fallouts. Very hyped for Fallout 4. :)

Definitely love fallout games and to a degree enjoy Bethesda games a lot, but hands down my absolute favorite was morrowind. It just had a certain magic to it that neither oblivion or skyrim could capture but skyrim did come fairly close.

VERY psyched for Fallout 4. Especially since I bought a PS4 a few months ago and have yet to find a new game for it I like (not just a PS3 reboot).

Couldn't get into Skyrim though I really wanted to. The way you queue your items changed, I like the cross pad way from Oblivion. When games change control schemes too dramatically I have a very very hard time adjusting and lose interest. I couldnt figure out how the effectively change weapons and spells on the fly with the left hand/right hand thing. This pissed me off.

I've honestly never played any Bethesda games, even though I own a few that I've been meaning to get around to. On Steam I have Skyrim, Fallout 3 GOTY, and Fallout: New Vegas. What should I start with?

I would start with Fallout 3, although like all the Fallout games they are horrendously depressing. Bethesda games are however notorious for having bad story plot lines. Skyrim, for instance, is good for exploration and adventure, although the story was utterly pathetic.

Fallout 3 is the best of that bunch. You'll be at it awhile.

These games are sort of a love/hate thing. I could see why some people dislike the game as it can be tedious. I also find the game, even at it's hardest level, to be too easy. But that's true for many games today.

I'm not big on storylines, I typically ignore the story in most games. I enjoy the story in he Fallout series. I like how you can uncover more of the story if you choose to explore more of the game, or just get the story of what's happening in this one person's existence. But even though it's overdone, I'm all over post-apocalyptic plots.

Fallout 3 is the earliest made of the three, so probably start with that since graphics tend to improve, faces start to look less like "melted plastic". I prefer Skyrim for pure role playing purposes, looking at your avatar you can totally play as Link if you want, and a cat person is a race too.

If you like your RPGs well-written, play Fallout: NV and just skip the rest. As Deltaville points out Bethesda's games have horrendously bad writing... which is sad because Elder Scrolls has some of the most off-the-walls crazy awesome lore anywhere and the people making the games are utterly incapable of using it. I'd add that they also tend to assume the player is an idiot. Obsidian (who made New Vegas) doesn't have these problems. They have a quality control problem, but just get the unofficial patch and it's all good.

All of them are big. There's a lot to do, so any one of them should keep you busy for a while if you get into it.

There are plenty of good Quest and New land mods for Skyrim, there are many new ones that have been released recently.

The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal
The Forgotten City
Darkend
Summerset Isle

New Vegas is a good game but it isn't the best port and struggles with VRAM issues. Skyrim and Fallout 4 are better optimized for modding, Fallout 4 will continue to get better as the modding community releases more content.

Now that you mention it, I think I would probably play a Khajit character on Skyrim. I actually wrote a bio a while ago for a feline D&D character, specifically a lecherous Chaotic Neutral mage.
