Has anyone ever played the Mortal Kombat series?

I have played the games, but I'm not very good. At Street Fighter, Tekken, and other games I have at least a chance of survival, but apparently not in Mortal Kombat.

Freddy Krueger from the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and Kratos from the God of War video games are guest characters on the 2011 game.

Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th and the Predator from the Predator franchise are guest characters on Mortal Kombat X. On March 1st they will also release the Xenomorph from Alien franchise and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise on March 1st.

I've played the ninth one once at a friend's house. I've also played some of the older ones at a game night at a game store. I have also played Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. I have a friend who really likes Scorpion.

I like the film and as a youngster, loved the games. Later on though, I really got to like Tekken more. After so many years, I stopped caring about fighting games and become obsessed with survival horror instead.

I've played it and boy am I a terrible MK player. It's so confusing, but I can see what hardcore fighting fans love about it. Not just the blood and the awesome cast of characters, but also the intensity and how it usually avoids being repetitive.

But I always have a difficult time remembering these button combinations at the right slpit-second moments to defend myself and counter-attack my opponent.

I think I've played every single MK fighting game with the exception of Armageddon.

FYI to anyone who owns the PC version of MK X...

WB has plugged the plug on the PC version due to all the refunds requested through Steam and the consumer backlash over the issues regarding the PC version.

Officially there will be no more support for the PC version including new patches, the rest of the DLC, and other stuff.

WB claims the PC users are being too unruly over the condition of PC version and due to low sales/high refunds, it's not worth the cost for them to fix the game on PC.

The actually announced this over a week ago.

So going forward from MK X, WB will no longer release their games on PC/Steam due to the PC market being "hostile" to them.
MK X was the final straw for WB on PC (The horrible Arkham ports started the issue)
PC/Steam was just Nintendoed (the majority of WB games don't release on Nintendo systems for the same reasons).

There was only one gory fighting game that I actually played and liked back in the 90's, although a lot of people think it's stupid, and that was Primal Rage. I guess it was just because it had dinosaurs. The only other fighting game I play and like is the Super Smash Bros. series, although many people don't think it's a fighting game and would love to have my head on a stake for saying it is. Whatever.

Sooo much controversy over the first MK game. But looking at it now it's so campy and unrealistic it's actually funny. People would argue blood and gore made the game more realistic. But you kick someone in the shins and a gallon of blood would spurt out, you'd burn your opponent's body to a crisp and they'd still be screaming afterwards, and then in the later games you blow someone up and about five rib cages land on the ground.
