The goal is to defeat the paintress...don't want to say any spoilers, but hell yeah if you like turn based combat this is for you. Idk for the longest time I didn't think I liked it...but I think maybe I just didn't get it. Because now I kind of love turn based games....like it gives you time to think about your move before you do it to really think about what you want to do. So you can decide the best moves before you do them and idk now that I get how it works on various games it is now a lot of fun.

But seriously Expedition 33 is a delight, but I don't want to spoil any of the story here so I will say nothing of the plot aside from the goal is to defeat the paintress. And other than that if you like turn based with a bit of a twist(you have to time your blocks and parryies right) It is amazing. Sorry not trying to be a commercial but this game is like actually amazing way beyond what I expected for a random game on xbox game-pass.

I have heard that this game is one of the most highly rated recent releases. I think the recommended settings for the graphics settings are quite high though, at least according to Steam's store page for the game, which might be a consideration for those with older setups.

I have put it on my wishlist in any case.

From the looks of it...seems incredible...so might not be good for me at the moment :(

I'll maybe try it out later.

I have just started it, but my first impressions:
- Story: The story is similar to Xenoblades 3's story: a bunch of humans with short lifespan managed by some sinister entity.
- Ambiance: Very similar to Dark Souls
- Combat: It's not really turn-base, it requires VERY fast reflexes and perfect timing to dodge/parry most attacks and it's very punishing if you fail so, and this is something I didn't like, it's frusturating. I hated it in Mario RPG (which was a very good RPG over all too) and I hate it in this one.
- Language: If you know French, play it in French, it is meant to be played in French; it has a very Frenchy allure overall, the places, the fashion, the charachters..
