Anybody play Scrabble? If so, do you play competitively? As in tournaments?

I love Scrabble.
Tournaments, eh? How would one go about entering such a thing?

I love Scrabble (and all word games, really) but I have a problem with getting impatient when it's the other person's turn to play. I play it on the computer sometimes, which is much more tolerable in that way. And good practise!

I play scrabble sometimes. Since it is only my mother and I who live in this house, I can never really have anyone to play with as she completely dispises the game and anything to do with it
Only on rare occassions will she play with me in scrabble.
I usually play online and just play against the computer

I have not played in any tournaments. Would like to though.

Although I *love* word games, Scrabble's never really done it for me. I much prefer Boggle-type games, like this one: http://weboggle.shackworks.com/4x4/

Oh wow. I totally just spent 45 mins there, and would probably be stuck there for a whole lot longer if I didn't have a toddler that needed me right now. :P Got any more links like those? That's great, thanks. Hehe.

I love scrabble. Even more fun when I chose to play my British partner who tried to use words like "dust bin" :P I play scrabulous on facebook too.

Fun, eh? Weboggle's my current "Jones". I get bummed if I don't get in the top 25% though.

Another pretty good non-Scrabble online word game is TextTwist: http://get.games.yahoo.com/proddesc?gamekey=texttwist

I like scrabble, but I really suck at it. If there was a scrabble club or something similiar near where I live I'd probably go once in a while, but I doubt I'd do well.

Yeah, TextTwist I've played before. I'm still getting really stuck on that boggle game. Just came here from playing it. People there are GOOD, though! Holy cow. I've always beat the pants off everyone playing Boggle IRL, but some people at that site sure beat the pants off of me. Yikes. It's still quite addicting, though.

Yep. I've heard it rumored that there's the occasional automated "bot" playing there, that beats the pants off everyone. I like to think it's just some word-obsessed geek somewhere with major typing skills.

I love Scrabble, and used to play it a lot, but I don't really have anyone to play against these days.
