Are you sure about that? I heard all the PS3s do play PS2 games, but some have hardware emulation and some have software emulation. The software emulation isn't as good, but it should still work with most games, I believe.

Super Metroid. Then again, I started gaming at nine so you can't blame me.

My PS3 does not play PS2 games whatsoever. The newer PS3 models dropped even the software emulation. I hope they bring it back, either in a firmware update, or a PSN download.

Nope, the 40GB ones do not. However, it's not a huge deal for me since I got my PS2 hooked up on another TV, and it plays and looks better than the PS3 Emulation Software.

The strange thing is, the PS3 will actually play PS1 games for w/e reason... or at least that's what the manual says. It's probably because Sony isn't ready for the PS2 to completely die yet, so they want you to purchase it unless you're willing to fork out the extra cash for the 60GB or 80GB. The PS1, on the other hand, is completely dead, so it wouldn't hurt from a financial standpoint to allow the PS3 to play those games.

Anyways, back to the thread:

- The Devil May Cry Series: All I've heard is good things about it, and it looks fun to play. It's going on the 4th one now so I'd have some catching up to do and money to sell out unfortunately.

- Banjo Tooie: I know it wasn't as good as the first from what I hear, but I adored the first one, and it left room for a sequel very well. If it's anything like Banjo Kazooie, I want to play it.

- God of War Series: Pretty much the same reasons as DMC.

- Oblivion: Really want to play this, and thinking strongly about picking it up for my new PS3. It's down to this and UT3, although I think I'm going to throw UT3 on my computer since I suck at Console FPS.

Deadly Premonition. I shall rectify this, however.

Dragon Age : Origins
The Mass Effect series
The God of War series
The Lord of the Rings beat-them-all
Stalker and its expansions
Overlord : Raising Hell (extension of Overlord ; I own the main game)
Fable II & Fable III
The Icewind Dale series

I have a rather crappy PC and don't own consoles.

I can't think of any at the moment. There was a game called Zeewolf for the Amoeba which sounded interesting at the time 'cause it had a Zarch (uh, "Virus" - now that was a hard game *sigh*)-like engine. And some equally or even more antique PC game of the "you are a starship captain, explore the galaxy" Star Trek clone type, which I saw reviewed in a magazine and can't remember the name of. I used to spend a lot of time drawing little spaceship 2d diagrams and it was just like that.

Uh, can't think of much else. Shadow of the Colossus maybe.

In most cases, the games/consoles you never got round to playing are readily available on eBay or Amazon.

Fallout 3, I let my brother borrow it before I got around to playing it, as I was working on bioshock at the time. This was a huge mistake as I have not seen fallout 3 anywhere since I blindly let him "borrow" it

Probably Golden Sun when it came out. It's just the commercials honestly turned me off from it... They scared me... There are also a few Zelda games that I've been wanting to play like I've been wanting to play Oracle of Ages and Seasons as well as Minish Cap, but yeah... not really interested in Zelda much...

Then there is Glory of Heracles and Magical Starsign... DS games I can get for fairly cheap... One of these days I'm going to play them... One of these days...
