Who here besides me loves this game? The single player is great, but I especially loved the multiplayer. Man, I remember spending weekends playing 4-player splitscreen, on the Facility or Bunker with Remote Mines. My brothers' friends and I had special rules, as well. Rules such as, "nobody can be Oddjob", "you can only shoot the person after they've found a weapon", and "no looking on another person's screen" (although this last rule was hard to follow most of the time).

What do you guys love about GoldenEye? What special rules did you have in multiplayer?

Yeah I loved it.

We used to play golden gun games a lot, or one shot kills.

If I remember rightly (it's been a few years) Oddjob seemed harder to shoot, cos he was shorter...

The looking at other people's screens was more of a benefit to good multi taskers... i.e. not me...

I only just got rid of my N64, I was keeping it in the vain hope I'd make some friends to play Goldeneye, Waverace, and Perfect Dark with.

Oh man, GoldenEye was THE thing for at least a couple years with my youth group at church. I was on the volunteer team by then, but I have fond memories of 4-player matches in The Stack. One kid was absolute death with the sniper rifle. No mater what you did to try and get around him, once he got to the high ground and pinned you down, it was over. They also had a "No Oddjob" rule in effect. Good thing too since there were enough shouting matches going on during the game as it was.

used to ply it a lot in multiplayer
mos of the rules that applied to goldeneye also applied to other shooters we played, perfect dark being my personal favourite, the labtop turret was so much fun
our rules included not looking at eachothers screen, no spawnkilling and the like, cant remember all.

for some reason i would always hide when playing the dam level, too confusing.

They did a remake of it for Wii. I still have yet to play it.

I played the old game a lot and now my brother has it. I don't even play it anymore. I used to use cheats and spend all my time in The facility and killing all those bad guys. I was even obsessed with it. But I never liked multiplayer all that much. Even my old aspie mate was obsessed with it.

I remember back in the days when that game was so popular when N64 was out. it was popular from the day it was released until they stopped making the games for it I think.

My best kill count during a single Facility playthrough was 29, 773 kills over a span of four hours. Then I went to play on the swings outside.

It was one of my favourite games when I was a kid. I played it all the time with my sisters and cousins. Do you know Perfect Dark? It was made by the same company (Rare) and used the same engine. It was basically Goldeneye but better in every way. The remake for the Wii was good for a Wii game too.

I also own Perfect Dark (both on the N64 and XBLA). Perfect Dark's multiplayer was cool, too (especially if you created a character with the face of a man but the body of a woman).

The multiplayer and singleplayer for both Goldeneyeand the original Perfect Dark beat the sh*t out of the cap we have to put up with today. However, most of my friends hate both games and say they're too dated. I laugh hysterically at them. They don't understand.

It's the little things.

The little things do indeed make a difference.

I remember playing this when I was younger until I sold my N64 to buy a GameCube. When I moved to my new
school (about a year ago now) I found out we had an N64 with Goldeneye. I play it quite a lot now with friends
there.

I've got a copy of that on my N64. Me and my brother used to mess around and make silly rule that none of us could use weapons. We called it the 'sissy slap match'. Everything about that game was, and still is brilliant!

played it every day as a child.

Still occasionally play it.

Me and my Sister used to have Slap Fights, I would play Odd-Job because face it, he's damn cheap in Slap Fights!

She always played Boris, she liked his T-Shirt.

When I play it now though, I can't find the Golden Guns.. it makes me sad.

EDIT:

Hahaha, Perfect dark was amazing.

I became a Pro with the Guided Rocket Launcher.

I became a pro using the FarSight XR-20's secondary fire mode. Now that is what I consider cheap.
