In your opinon what was the all time best Star Wars game ever made?

For me it would have to be Star Wars Tie Fighter, even though it is ancient it is still the best. I wish they would re-release the game on PC and Mac I would be so happy to get in a tie fighter again ^_^

That video brings back memories.

However, I still have to say the Knights of the Old Republic series is my favorite in the SW universe as far as games go.

I used to really, really like Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight (and the expansion pack, Mysteries of the Sith), but I think that one's been knocked down by the Battlefront games. Great fun, especially when you get a good LAN going...we had a party once in someone's garage with like eight TVs and XBoxes all hooked up =)

I suck at the flying missions in #2, though

Difficult to say...

I liked Jedi Outcast and KOTOR is amazing - is it possible to compare these two and say one is better than the other.

Nostalgia-wise, I loved the original rebel assault - I wish they'd make a new version of that (and make it easy to play). Battlefront is a bit too hard and Battlefront II well, I've got an average life-span of under a minute there...

I also have to add in the new Force Unleashed. Yeah, it has some bugs, yeah, it has issues with repetitiveness, yeah, it lacks the polish that could have made it a great game, but it is still tons of fun and one of the best Star Wars stories I've seen.

Forget Tie Fighter... let's go back to the original:
Image

It was the second video game I had ever owned (after Tetris), and I wasted many of my child years playing that game. (I also later came to appreciate how the three-letter abbreviation X-Wing used for "Star Destroyer" was "STD", although later iterations of the game that included both star destroyer classes used VSD and ISD...)...

Beyond that, the only other games that come to mind are the original Dark Forces and KOTOR...

It is so difficult to chose I guess I will name my favirouts they are (N64): Rogue Squadren, ep 1 racer (PS2): Star wars star fighter, Battle front 2 (Xbox): KOTOR series, Jedi academy (360)and finaly Fore unleashed. As far as being a Jedi I liked Jedi knight, favirout move was useing hoke to throw people around and in a way Force unleashed built on to that part, but Jedi knight was longer and included things like different lightsaber styles and a hoice of single, duel or double ended. Ep 1 racer was good as I am not a big fan of raceing, but it was fun, my fairoute racer was Mar Guo, I remember raceing against my brother and at time my guy just tearing through his Anakin. With star fighting Rogue was good with amount of fighters, best being the V-wing, and the SW starfighter was also fun, favirout was the mantis that misiles if hit would alow all of your gunfire to just seek on the opponent and if you charged your misiles it ould disable ships, and you ould use Darth mauls ship. Kotor (I have only played the seond) was fun, the world is emursive, fun and realy got you thinking, like did you know that Jango and hence all of his clones are part of a species that at one time almost defeated the republic, infact thier suits looked a lot like the imperial guards. But after a bit of thought I would have to say Battlefront 2 was the best, it just had so much you could do, from shooting, flying, lightsabers and a lot of strategy. favirout team was the CIS and favirout ship was the CIS strike bomber, and favirout ground troop was the Droideka

I still can't understand how Lucas Arts has such a hard time making great Star Wars games. All the really good ones are developed by 3rd party developers and published by Lucas Arts.
