i have an xbox 360 pro and i need to charge up my batterey pack where do i plug up the usb i know you plug one end in to the top of the controller and do i have to leave the xbox 360 on to charge it

figured it out the usb ports are under the flap on the front the room was so dark i couldnt tell and from touching it i couldnt either but i found it today i serched on the internet and couldnt find and anything either but i saw it today i was so excited i should have explored it more or read the instructions but i never do
