Well, GTA IV isn't as good on the PC. I can't configure the controls to the ones I want. I have [ENTER] to get in and out of vehicles. Won't let me do it. And then there is the issue with the driving camera. I use one set of controls for foot and another set for driving, so how do I grab the mouse to update the third person view when my mouse is on my right, and I drive the vehicles with the same hand?
I know the camera follows eventually, but I have had to stop, take my hands away from the controls to fix the camera issue, I have also tried a quick view change as a quicker fix, but this disorientates me and I would prefer a patch for it.
This way seems to work better for consoles than it does PC's as there are thumb-sticks. I don't believe the "realism" when the car turns and the camera stays facing the same way. My head would not be able to do that in real life. I'd snap it. I would have a field of view of about 90degrees or so facing forward. I'd also have to manoeuvre myself to drive in reverse. Although I can do this in real-life with just mirrors...

why use different controls? :? the default controls are laid out pretty much perfect imo, with mouselook & WASD/Spc etc perfoming the same functions, so you can move in & out of vehicles fluidly without changing hands & with freeview constantly available. It doesnt get awkward until the helicopter levels.
