My Aspie obsession is Super Smash Brothers Melee - I play extremely competitively, have played almost every day since release 7 years ago, I think about and practice it constantly, I drive hours to tournaments almost every other weekend, I'm in the top 10 best in my state, and my whole social life revolves around my friends through Smash tournaments.

It's been absolutely wonderful.

Anyone else play Smash?

- Apparently the best player in the world (Mew2King) is autistic (although I don't know if it's HFA or AS) but I've met him in person and he DEFINITELY has a lot of the tendencies... he always makes repetitive full-body motions while he plays, doesn't look people in the eye, has extensive knowledge with certain aspects, obviously he has an intense focus and obsession with the game... it makes sense to me and I think it's really cool.

It's also possible that many of the best gamers are Aspies - our abilities seem to be well-suited to it.

I still play the N64 Super Smash Bro's lol. A friend of mine that I visit regularly in another city still has the game and system, so we still play it everytime i'm there. I have played the newer versions as well, but i stopped buying new game consoles so i'm now out of touch with them. It has always been one of my favourite video games though.

O.M.G.

I LOVE THE SMASH BROS. GAMES!! ! My favorite being Melee for the GameCube. Somebody took my copy of it so I couldn't play it for a loooooooong time, until TODAY. My uncle sent me a copy as a late Christmas present and it arrived earlier.

I've been playing it nonstop. I actually came to the game section to see if there was a thread about it.

My boyfriend used to do tournaments.

I am a big fan, my favirout part is being able to mentaly fight your opponent (human), my favirouts on melee are young Link, Mewtwo and Dr Mario, all of which were not put onto brawl, but my favirouts on brawl are Wolf, Pit and Snake is often fun. A lot of my strategy from the game I got from observing computers, like I got my speed by observing Mario and Luigi, I surprised some friends once at a party by even being fast with Bowser, who everyone always expects to be too heavy. Another fun thing is that I choose the charecter Peach and people never take you serously, maybe even purposly mess up a few times to lure your opponent into not taking you serously. And also the strategy to just frustrate your opponent so that they can not focus, and my favirout point of always take advantage of things, like if something dosent go how you like, change your strategy to your advantage. On another note as soon as I saw the game Super Smash Bros. after playing at a Toys r Us I wanted the game, though it took ages for me to get it, melee was one that I wanted to play more, but I had to live with geting on my brothers GC to play, and when deciding what new gen consoel to get Brawl would have been one the only games I would have got the Wii for. The latest game was amazing with its movies, though storyline was a bit weird.

I played Super Smash Bros Melee for many years. I played it from approximately 2002-2007. However, I haven't played it again since Brawl came out and now I splay that from time to time. I'll admit SSBM was a game I got very good at myself. I'm not that good at fighting games but this was one I got the hang of extremely quickly. The controls are very easy to learn but the game is still challenging to master itself and I unlocked 100% so there's no more to do in Melee.

I prefer Brawl over Melee. It takes a bit of getting used to Brawl (the physics are different) but once you adjust, Melee just feels so horrible to play.

Link was always my favorite in Melee. In Brawl I play almost anyone. Wolf, Falco, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Dedede, Lucas, Lucario, and Kirby are the ones I use most frequently. I often just let the computer select a random character for me.

Brawl was my obsession up until about 3 months after it was released, but I still play it on a regular basis. To be honest, I mis the days of speculation on how the game was going to be, which in my opinion was the only thing wrong with the game when it came out. I had spent so much time obsessing over it that it inevitably fell short of expectations. Its still a great game though, and since I started playing Smash Bros on the N64, a Smash Bros game has sat at the top of my favorite games list. also, as evidence of this, you can usually find me at Smash Brawl Rankings.
