It can be any genre of game, any platform.
Genre, hate that word, don't know why...

Depends on the game.

Rogue, for instance...I will always lose :x

The trick with rogue, is to forget about exploring every bit of every dungeon level. Just make sure you have enough food to survive and only kill things which you are confident you wont die against. Stay away from anything that can damage your strength(bees for example) and especially things which can damage your AC(like a rust monster). The strategy that works best for me is to beef up my AC as much as possible and then just run past everything I can and go straight for the amulet. It reaches a point when your level and hp arent very important anymore(-20 AC or so). When you reach that point(and even a little bit before) Fighting monsters stop being worth it. It just takes away precious turns you could be continuing towards ascension and makes you hungry. Which, if you've played a lot of rogue, I'm sure by now you know how scarce food can be. Hope my tips helped. Also, if you like rogue, try looking into nethack or slashem. Here's the order of games directly descended from rogue. Rogue -> Hack -> Nethack -> Slash'Em

Sometimes I try to just run past all the monsters and stuff (I add [QR] "quick run" to my name so I know in the high scores), but eventually I end up accidentally bumping into a Troll or something in the darkness :x

Food seems to be less scarce in the commercial Epyx version of the game (Slimes instead of Snakes) than it was in the freeware version...I've never once died of hunger in that one.

Tried to get into NetHack, but I thought they added too many pointless commands and really overcomplicated the fun out of it.

I'm competent at gaming, and I'm playing the id Super Pack while my 360 is being repaired. Doom 2 is inhuman on Hurt Me Plenty (which I think is the normal mode), and the one below is still tough at points.

I suck at most games and I'm a sore loser. I've been told I have a problem with pointlessly hoarding potions and power-ups and whatever can be collected. Solo RPGs are the best.

Ok, maybe i shouldn't have put console, I never even thought about how the word didn't include PC, maybe I'll check my message before I post next time. I overall prefer computers, because of all the things you can do with them. However It's just easier to get a console, hehe.
But yeah, replace the word 'console' with platform, that was what It was meant to be.

And sorry for being 14 years of age and to not have even looked into building a computer...
I'm not crazy over graphics anyway, hell i still play some of the old classics like DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D and the first Timesplitters (My favourite, I spent the last week on that. :P) The only upside to the computer for me really is mouse and keyboard. Quicker aim and more buttons. I play Crysis in low textures (except shadows and the HUD) but i really don't care, the gameplay is great. I prefer to keep learning C and fixing the neighbours computers every 3 weeks. I begin to think these people who are meant to fix the computers are useless, I sent mine in once, it comes back with no files or data and the exact same error message came back a week later, so I tried to fix It and found that the data was still there, it hasn't gone wrong for 2-3 years now.

I don't play online on the PC, but the occasional round on Call of Duty 4 for X360 ups my K/D ratio a little more (4.6 and counting... hehe.) Now I think about it, I have never actually lost to a human opponent, I went 9v1 in a private match on CoD5 and won (don't like 5)
But; I suppose I had the advantage as I had more people to shoot, though I would have thought they could kill me before I get a chance to shoot.
I hold 5 or 6 world gaming records as well actually. (High scores out of millions, not the Guiness (sp?) thing)

Regardless, I just wanted to get my point across.

I'm alright I guess, though I suck at RTS games and my record in FPS games online isn't exactly stellar either but the singleplayers usually aren't too hard for me. Other types of games I go through with ease.

Depends on the game. . .

Overall, I'm pretty good at videogames, sometimes lose, but I learn faster than the average.

I'm absolutely terrible at games, for most the part. I usually have to play on easy. The only ones I'm pretty good (though it varies on how I'm playing that particular day) at, are multiplayer FPS, wargames and simulations.

DOOM is best experienced at the second hardest difficulty (Nightmare just makes monsters respawn) with a few friends in coop mode ;)

But either way, DOOM's gameplay is a bit different from most FPS...it's more like a space shooter where you have to strafe a lot to avoid projectiles, whereas most FPS use traceline attacks which can't be seen.

Average, I guess. I mean, I don't suck, but it's not like I'm exceptional or something.
