WOW , you're really into retro music eh , those songs are good, but if you give the modern sonic games a chance, you will see that this kind of music is superior

"FOLLOW MEEEE, SET ME FREEEEE....TRUST MEEEE & WE CAN ESCAPE FROM THE CITTTYYYY......."....urgh, pile of tosh...sonic 1&2 (the megadrive originals) are where it's at composition wise...green hill zone and chemical plant zone probably being the best....the Mega CD tunes weren't bad either.x

Agreed, sonic adventure 2 has the best music. But i too have never liked city escape like most people do, probably because of the lyrics, and i don't like live & learn either. But the mission street music i SOOOO dreamy

I've played Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Sonic and Knuckles, and I think Sonic 2 by far had the best music.

I also think the Sonic 3 mini-boss theme, the Hill Top theme, and the Metropolis theme are all hilarious. There's a part at the end of the Metropolis theme that sounds like Sonic is losing all his rings.

Almost Dead gets an honorable mention because it's by Powerman 5000 (aka Rob Zombie's brother) When I first recognized his voice it shocked the hell out of me.

I usually listen to the instrumental version of "believe in myself", but right now my favorite is Pleasure Castle from sonic adventure 1, it's so relaxing

emerald hill zone is the best sonic the hedgehog 2 song Hands down!! after that it's metropolis for me

I bought Sonic 2 again recently, and after playing the Emerald Hill Zone I had fond memories of my childhood flowing back to me.
