I don't guess it really would 'matter'. I was just misinformed and under the impression they were both one in the same. This caused me to have a visual mental image of our solar system as a clock, and the planet alignment being like resetting to zero. I did not realize the mayan calendar relates to a different alignment. There is much information out there showing others are as confused as me...or maybe the ones confusing me.

Haven't read this thread all the way though and I hope I'm not being redundant. Supposedly this has to do with the 13th sign of the zodiac, the snake handler (Orphilius?). They had a special on Nostradamus's predictions and mentioned that in decoding the pictures - particularly the glyph of the giant 8-spoked carriage wheel and the great calamity - that the 8 spokes represent the alignment of the galaxy where we're directly on the other side of the sun from the center of the Milky Way galaxy.

Its rather interesting how so many accounts across different cultures corroborate this. It could be something and, then again it could be nothing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Will thinking about it change my plans and how I live my life now? Not really, just because I'd rather live like its not going to happen, plan ahead for my life, and if it does happen - I'll be just as screwed being prepared or unprepared (just like anyone else IMO).

This is no different than Y2K, The LHC, 6/6/06 and all the other bulls#$% that people are trying to pull. Unless someone shows me that a giant meteor is coming our way in 2012, I'm not believing s@#$.

I don't think its all about the Mayans only. Watch David Wilcock's "2012 Enigma" on youtube, I found it quite interesting
