I was seriously thinking about grabbing some religious material to burn, putting on a diaper, and pointing my car at Washington, until he said that this rally wasn't for people like that.

Would that I could attend, as a member of the Coffee Party, but sadly I live in the other Washington, some three thousand miles away, and can't make it. :(

I'm really hoping to go, if I can fit it in. I'll be sure to have my "I may not agree with your policies, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler" sign ready to go.

Let's take it down a notch for America!

I'd be tempted if I wasn't also in the other Washington; it sounds like it could be pretty entertaining. What I think is going to suck is the inevitable post rally crowd estimate wars. When Beck did his rally I saw mainstream networks giving a crowd count of 350-600,000, while ideological sources were claiming less than 100,000. I'm sure the Stewart-Colbert Vs Beck crowd count wars will be an annoying ongoing issue on ideological boards for some time to come.

I really want to go, I don't live too far away so I probably will be able to :D
Now I just need to think of some good sign ideas.

I wonder if anyone would be partial for holding rallies in their own city?

Folks, Tea-Partiers are willing to drive hundreds of miles for their rallies. Where's your passion for a rally premised on rationality, a toning down of electoral passions, etc.? Personally, I would go if it were nearby, but I'm in St. Louis.

I'm interested, but I live on the west coast; I do have family there, though, so wouldn't have to pay for a hotel. Will have to check out the air prices.

What is Stewart advocating? That we go back to not caring?

Honestly, I think people are acting quite sane all things considering. People should be angry and they're lucky they're acting through the democratic process and not the end of a gun.

And for the 30,000 extra troops he's sending to Afghanistan!
He's making friends in the muslim world.

It's not the emotion that Stew Beef has a problem with, it's the discourse. Both the right and the left are guilty of taking their opinions WAY over the edge of sanity. Obama is Hitler, Cheney is the devil, Beck receives signs from God to speak to the people while 15 billion are in attendence, blah, blah, blah.

All this childish back and forth gets us nowhere. Let's pass health care, no, let's repeal it. Any time a moderate republican shows even a glimpse of compromise he's called a RINO. If a democrat even considers an idea put forth by a republican he's a wimp.

We need our government to focus on the left-out majority, not the sensasionalist loudmouths.

Apologies, but I have no idea what you are talking about. He's just a comedy news show host. He doesn't actually send troops anywhere.
