Its just occurred to me. Is it possible she's a just comedian parodying intolerant Jews. And doesnt really hold those views.

Obviously it's a comment on Christian monkeys, not people. Jewish monkeys also can be treated badly. Since most monkeys are atheists they are safe.

I hadn't thought about that, but it's true! :lol: I'm not a big fan of monkeys, anyway, so it looks to me the little guy had it coming. He's also poorly representing recorded events surrounding the crucifixion, so I think the monkey deserved to "get it" after spewing such vile blasphemies. And that this happened at the hands of his supposed friend Toffee is only fitting, if ironic.

I've expressed my sentiment once before and I'll express it again: Toffee is cute. And what a sick bunch of monkeys we are if all we can do is focus on the monkey.

I laughed as well.

When people do that kind of stuff it's not 'edgy', but it's also not 'hateful'...it's just stupid. Occasionally, it's so stupid it's funny. :lol:

However, the burning of the Qu'ran IS different to P*** Christ, but I believe both should be allowed under freedom of speech.

Yeah, but Moslems aren't so magnanimous when it comes to forgiveness. Burning the Koran can get you murdered.

The Christians weren't very magnanimous about P*** Christ. Serrano gets loads of abuse and hate mail and his work gets vandalised.

I meant they were different acts in this sense:

P*** Christ was done to provoke people and make the artist famous (not really to express hatred). It's not an inherently anti-Christian artwork, even if it is a 'shocking' one.

Burning the Qu'ran was done to provoke Muslims and it was done to express something close to hatred. Even so, I reckon the hatred is for the book and the ideas in it, rather than for Muslims as people. Therefore, I reckon you should have the right to do it in a free country.
