No one can dare tell me how to live my life, because I'm quite capable of deciding for myself. Religion isn't necessary for me, in fact I'm far better off without it and I'm quite sure that I can't be the only one.

I have no doubt about that 8) If all the humans were AS religions would be mainly unnecesary, since most of us have the rational and moral power not to need them. I was talking about NTs above. They DO need something to believe and to follow and to know how to behave. Pitty NTs.

Yeah, I see your point. To be honest, I feel that most NTs tend to be more competitive, some perhaps willing to go a long way to get what they want, not really worrying about what they have to do to get it. I wonder if it's our laws and legal systems and culture in general that prevent them from destroying each other. I wonder if you were to take away religion completely, would the legal systems keep things going or would things begin to fall apart? I guess it would depend on the country in question and the systems and culture in place there.

:!: Just a little note before anyone says anything else!

After Jesus died his followers did not call themselves Christian until Paul came along they were instead called followers of the way and what is quite sad is the word Christian, Has been in a way watered down to a bunch of men in white frocks which get up and say mass [no offence and i am a Christian!] but rather it has so much life in it many peopleaged 5-95 across the earth are followers of the way, now to be honest i dont think that there is much in a name or a title or a "Relgion" what is more than that is someones faith which is not in a Mosque or a temple or a Church its in your head and in your heart.

[If i offend some one im sorry]

Stalin was an atheist and he killed more than Hitler.

But neither point is really relevant.

Technically I am atheist, but I believe all the world religions might have been connected as UFO cover-ups, and all "miracles" could be explained as advanced technology far beyond our comprehension. My theories are far too complex to be given a name though. Some, not all, of what I speak, I feel adequately comfortable calling fact. if I had to choose something to call myself, I'd call myself a truth seeker.

Look, I do not think having Asperger's Syndrome as I do makes one inherently more virtuous than neurotypicals, any more than it makes us inherently more depraved. Both propositions are patently ludicrous. Speaking for myself, I have virtues and vices - like most of humanity.

More like 50 million more people, minimum 8) and that depends on what dead people are you counting and what not.

That's true. But what matters is WHAT virtues and vices we have - and collectively, AS are much moral and rational people than NTs, and that's what's really important. I'm not saying we are perfect; if I was I certainly wouldn't be lonely today 8) . I'm just saying that our combination of virtues and vices equips us much better in the matters we are discussing.

I was raised Christian, but shunned the philosophy like a bad smell. Much to the chagrin of my parents. They dragged me to what most people would call a Pentecostal church service every Sunday. Everyone spoke in tongues and performed exorcisms, and this inflicted a good deal of psychological damage on my sisters and I.

I took a more pragmatic approach to "service to God", in that I hated the functionless social meeting of church, and preferred instead to donate my time to people who needed it.

After reading about psychology, I became agnostic (border-line atheist). In need of a new world-view, I drifted about aimlessly for a year or so, dropping off residual philosophical baggage as I went, until I encountered Secular Humanism. Moral relativism seems like the sanest stance in a world full of subjectivity and strife.
