Well hopefully the states haven't forgotten about states rights.....in my opinion its not just about the marijuana, but that is an example of the feds trying to trample states rights.

Political entities do NOT have rights. They have powers. Only sentient persons (flesh and blood persons) have rights.

The autonomous powers of the States started to erode after the Civil War. We evolved toward a National State rather than a Federal State as the Founders intended. At this juncture the States are more like the Departments of France.

It seems to me that historically "state's rights" have been a strong ally to conservative obstructionists looking to slow or stop the demand to treat groups of human beings like human beings. So screw state's rights.

That has already been done. Now feel the weight of a centralized National Government. American neo-fascism has triumphed

The U.S. evolved along the lines Alexander Hamilton proposed, and not along the lines Thomas Jefferson favored.

We are now a full bore Crony Capitalist State ruled by a corporate-governmental oligarchy and disguised as a democratic republic.

Well then why is it Colorado passed amendment 64 trying to legalize marijuana...to get rid of people being treated as criminals for smoking marijuana. It was passed on the best interest of all the citizens of the state. But the feds want to trample it down and continue prosecuting people for something that shouldn't even be a crime. Its the feds who want to trample various groups of human beings, not the states......well maybe some states behave that way but then they are just taking after the federal government.

I patiently await the possibility of complete collapse and reformation into a socialist nation. Hopefully I'll have the chance to slip a noose over the head of a sociopathic, theiving CEO myself.

I did say historically. I'm aware that there are few absolutes and that sometimes things change.

Well I guess you have a point there, after all some of the prohibition towards marijuana started in some states, but to just say screw states rights seems extreme since then that gives the federal government full reign.

It's simply not good enough for me that a handful of states have decided to stop being douchebags on selective issues. I consider the protection of American citizens to be the duty and responsibility of the Federal government. States should not be allowed to selectively "decide" that they're "ready" to stop dicking with people.

Well the feds are doing a sh*t job of it as well, I know its their duty that is why it's annoying as hell that they are doing such a sh*t job of it, seems like they are more pushing it towards fascism than anything else.

What gets me is that medical marijuana saved an autistic boy from starving to death yet the Doctors would rather see that boy die.

So is a Doctor who prescribes pot to save a child's life a witch doctor?
