Not all feminists do so. Radfems tend to see language as a tool of oppression, and extrapolating from the use of "man" to supposedly include all people (which it does not), they look at other words that are seen as masculine and try to eliminate their use in reference to either all people or women in particular. "Woman" is seen as referring to the biblical story, "woe to man," and radfems see the word as a way of blaming women for all of men's problems; or, it is seen (more correctly) as a way of saying "female man," which still makes women a sort of secondary type of human, with men being the default.

Changing the spelling is a way to get away from that. Likewise the gender-neutral pronouns ("hir," "se," etc).
Most of us think that it's just not worth the effort, though.

I thought either they cannot spell worth of s**t or that they just hate men so much that they do not want the definition of their gender have the same spelling of the gender they hate! Regardless of spell check going nuts and leaving a red underline on the word womyn! They seem to lack intelligence and have no logic whatsoever let alone reasoning unless your a woman but even other women cant stand them! They just seem to spew incoherent sexism against men to justify their own cause.

If the reasons you are anti-feminist are of the form: "Men got it hard too". "I want real equality not feminism", "Misandry", "I want to be able to hit on women everywhere I go" , "Having sex with drunk women is definitely not ever rape", etc. Then you ARE a rabid misogynist.

Some reasons to be anti-feminist that don't make you anti-women (or in fact show you might be more pro-women than mainstream feminism)
- "I am a womanist - feminists are not intersectional"
- "Feminism has failed trans women".
- "Radical feminists are Sex worker / trans exclusive"
- "Mainstream Feminism is infested with colonialism".
- "Mainstream Feminism is all about shaming other women for their choices".

There's a long tradition of the wise fool - they can speak truths that others can't, because they tell it in the guise of a joke. They want to be taken seriously, to convey a message. Some comedians fancy themselves as such, and want their jokes to be taken seriously. When that's the case, I think it's fine to take them to task.

What's more, "it's just a joke" is not any kind of defense.
