Kody Brown's first wife filing for divorce

Kody Brown, the polygamist, and Meri, his first wife, whom he has one child, a daughter, wants out of the marriage and has filed for divorce. She is the only wife legally married to Kody since she was the first and polygamy is illegal in all fifty states.

I read Kody will marry Robyn, his fourth wife, once the divorce is finalized, which would make him an adulterer but I guess there is no such thing as adultery in plural marriage.

I find their lifestyle fascinating. I don't judge people harshly so long as the family is stable and nurturing.

Meri cannot have any more kids and the only child she has with Kody has just left for college so she doesn't have much to lose now. Wonder if she will stay single or date?

As far as I know: she's not leaving him. She basically filed for divorce for Robyn's kids from her previous relationship to be protected legally or something like that.

That might be true but at the same time, it would give her more freedom.
