Hillary blowing Sanders out in South Carolina, looking like it will be over after Super Tuesday

Sanders is kind of the cultural antithesis of South Carolina.

The reason why Sanders didn't do well here is because he didn't spend much time reaching out to those here who would have gauranteed his willing here, --The Black community.

Looks like Sanders has lost his momentum:

Furthermore, the fact that Hillary did better than Obama among black voters in South Carolina (measured not only by percentage of votes but by turnout as well) really sets her up well for the general election.

Although turnout in primaries cannot be considered representative of turnout in the general election, one ought to recall that George W. Bush would likely never have been president if black turnout had been as high as white turnout in 2000.

It really is weird how overwhelming Hillary's support is with black voters especially after the campaign she waged in 2008 but she has almost total control of the black establishment which is not held in as high of disregard(think civil rights icons like John Lewis) as their white counterparts plus in the south more of the white populists I think would be more likely to vote for Trump or the Republican in general. It's hard for me not to see a racial component to it, Bernie is a very old looking Jewish man and has been pretty awkward in his attempts to woo black voters which he is almost at the point of begging. It's kind of sad since while Hillary was a Goldwater Youth, Bernie was getting arrested on the streets of Chicago in a place that even MLK didn't crack. Now nevermind Goldwater being a much more honorable man than LBJ or later Nixon(Hillary wouldn't of known that) but it is an interesting contrast.

For all intents and purposes, it's over for Bernie after Super Tuesday and to be honest the entire process has been rigged from the beginning so he never really had a chance even as Hillary's support collapsed before Iowa/New Hampshire(which I find really weird since Bernie wasn't hammering her but Trump was) Bernie's only chance was to scorch the earth, he had to be totally opposed to Hillary on ideological grounds(pretty hard to do since she'll just copy whatever she thinks is popular) but also ethical grounds which is where his greatest strength lies with her greatest weakness. Bernie after that point won't be viable for the nomination but he might stay in to collect delegates so he can leverage the platform and get a prime time speaking spot. Bern is a team player and will ultimately try to keep everyone in Hillary's camp.

That's a lot of populist anger that has to go somewhere

When Bernie announced, I thought his intent was to pull Hillary to the left. The Democrats also needed a primary to stir up excitement and get people involved so they will have a GOTV machine for the general.

It's nice to see Rubio fighting fire with fire and I look forward to Trump going off the deep end. The schoolyard bully does not like to be bullied.

This is reality TV at its finest.

It's a shame there is so much at stake.

Rubio is just too much of an airhead, the only reason they'd pick him is because they think he'd pick up Cuban votes down in Florida which it looks like he is poised to lose which would be the death knell of his campaign.

I think Kasich is a guy who might be a VP pick, popular governor of Ohio with solid credentials and seems like a pretty nice guy.

Who knows at this point, the establishment of the GOP is completely lost and has no idea what to do right now.

Trump VP is an interesting question tho, he's going to pick up a lot more establishment support once he's clearly the nominee which will may be evident after tomorrow even. I think it is safe to say Cruz won't be Trump's VP, Carson is a strong possibility as well as Christie(for as evil as he is, he's a talented surrogate to have on your side), maybe someone more obscure or to heal the party.
