SJWs are racist, sexist bigots who infantilise gays, women, and trans people. As a gay man, I find them infuriating and insulting.

And trans people should find their ideas of social constructionism insulting. Their idea that gender, and even biological sex is a social construct, is laughable and ignores the reality of the transgender issue. Namely that trans people have brains more similar to the opposite sex.

I don't know. I just wish there were more moderates. I don't care for SJW's but anti-SJW people grate me just as much. The left is not synonymous with the SJW movement. I care a lot about economic justice and things like LGBT rights, but I'm not going to go so far as to reconstruct reality through an ideological lens. I'm too logical to fall for the extreme claims that some SJWs make. A lot of their ideas simply don't make sense. I find some of their tactics and the language they use divisive and alienating. There is so much focus on groups - you know - this group having privileged over that group. They come off as not seeing people as individuals.

I recently discovered Milo's conferences on YouTube as well as the interviews on TV.
He knows how to rile up the SJW's for one, and is incredibly articulate at doing so.

Instant fan!

I do like him and and Paul Rubin quit a bit. They offer a view skew without being outright militant.
He is admittedly a troll. But not someone that just churns out dogma or does not look at the big picture.
He is just one of those people that can't resist teasing that foamy mouth chained dog everyone else crosses street to avoid. He prolly been bit a few times.
I would like them as straight guys. But each also brings a human side to homosexuals instead being a freak show parade of rabid, ill mannered SJW style. I do not get to see much in my current podunkatory. My gay acquaintances are faded a good 2 decades off so a reminder is good.

"A journalist is someone with no opinions and the ability to express them perfectly".

Milo is a journalist, though sometimes I do agree that he is fabulous, and he can be very funny.

As a professional troll he is unsurpassed. Steven Crowder is another man who is very funny - at one Milo event he harangued the SJW section of the audience with the fact that Milo is actually their creation. This is first rate mockery of the trendy idea that everything is a social construct, so it is satire using the truth in my opinion and excellent.

With me having been a victim of trendy campus microfascists in the past, all this side of the Milo phenomena is lapped up with glee.

But . . . it is difficult sometimes to ascertain what this amusing and charming Milo might actually believe. For instance, does he actually believe that Sherrif Joe is a great bloke and that lefties hate SJ because he is "effective"?

My politics might be to the left still, a woolly liberal, not really sure where the centre is any more. Whilst I don't actually want to see Arthur Scargill as Prime Minister I'd like to see his image on postage stamps (in profile like ceaser), I do wish he had won the miner's strike, and I hate all that Frankfurt School ideology. For American readers I'm probably a bit like the Bruce Springsteen or I.W.W. sort of idea. An aging man with old fashioned ideas and most certainly politically defeated.

Sherrif Joe bothers me as he stands for punishment as revenge. His methods are being watched by Amnesty International, who are not a bunch of wet sentimental lefties. Winston Churchill, hardly noted for being a raving liberal, said that you can judge a country by the way it keeps its prisoners.

Virtue signalling is a criticism that the right has made of the left, i.e. make sure you praise Nelson Mandela regularly and brag about how many homosexual friends you've got and you can be any kind of a***hole you like. Perhaps Milo in showing affection for Sherrif Joe is virtue signalling to right wing prejudices to be popular ?

Guess I wouldn't stand a chance at question time with Milo, essentially saying that I don't LIKE Sherrif Joe, as gorgeous Milo will have done the research to defeat with facts and stats.

It would be really really good if Milo were to step into the tradition of satirists like Ian Hislop - if Milo turned out to be a professional Contrarian attack dog against whatever establishment you've got, but perhaps the aim to become the future President Trump's press secretary has been the aim all along.

Anyway, whatever his rose tinted glasses on the answers for certain realpolitik issues, he is interesting.

It is highly disturbing that it looks like he is effectively banned from public speaking in Britain.

Milo was briefly suspended from Twitter today, apparently after his account was hit with thousands of abuse reports sent from Arabic-language accounts. Milo's account is:

https://twitter.com/Nero

He says that he has received thousands of messages like these:

I love him, although I disagree with him on maybe 1or 2 things. I do love how at the UMASS conference, when steven mentioned that Milo "had a fetish for black dudes, Milo replied "I don't know why Black Lives Matter is protesting me, I've got more black in me than they do!" I just damn near died of laughter on my couch....

Meh. I agree with some of his views, but find his tactics to be too inflammatory. As someone else here has already said, he comes across as a troll. I greatly prefer the more polite and reasonable approach people like Sargon of Akkad take.

I'm bringing this back to draw attention to some unbelievable BS I just came across. I'm not a fan of Milo, but look:

https://youtu.be/vSAkcFG_4Rg

Seriously? He didn't even do what they say he did, but even if they were 100% right he still just doesn't belong in with those people or to be called evil. And I like that channel and have watched many videos from it. But now seeing that has cast massive doubt on anything in that list I don't already know about to be true and everything that site produces. Shocking from a site with millions of subs, unbelievably irresponsible. Even the most cursory of research will show you Milo got stitched up with those accusations. I guess this is another place where the tentacles have reached...

Stitched-up accusations of cyber-bullying? As much as clouds have stitched-up rain inside them.

Twitter had every right to suspend him as they suspend other extremists that encourage or participate in violence. You wouldn't be using an emoticon for anger in defense of him if he targeted you and in turn a mob came after you as happened, you might be angry but due to the irrational lynching mentality.

The title of this thread might as well be "anyone a fan of fascism? Someone who's actually into fashion!" (Easy to conflate the two, beyond the nominative, of course...)

ps. (to the reply below): hilarious, I'm sensationalizing when this topic is about someone quintessentially a sensationalist? You want a discussion or just people who agree with you? I don't think anything I said is controversial as many others also agree he's nasty. I'd be interested to know which 30% doesn't rile you up as much.

I wonder if I'm the only one who just rolls my eyes at like 70% or so of mootoo's posts.

Please don't engage with him people. I want to see a proper discussion, not one bogged down by mootoo, if there is to be one, I don't presume there to be. But I am interested what people think, otherwise I wouldn't have posted.

A tip for you mootoo. Stop sensationalising everything. I do not know what makes you think it is a good idea to do so, but just stopping doing so would cut into that 70% I think more than any other single action. It stops me from taking you even remotely seriously.

EDIT: Oh wow, you've edited your post, it's even more sensationalistic now.
