Don't sell yourself short, man! :)

Why grammar is important.

If we move the comma one word to the left, it takes on a disturbing new meaning.

"Don't sell yourself, short man!"

I think they like it that way. It's in their genes to be ruled with a heavy hand.

I can't argue with that logic.

If we removed the comma, perhaps.

Because they can! Isn’t the freedom to be an anti-intellectual great? :D

Kathy Griffin recounted to Bill Maher how she's recently been detained at various foreign airports for questioning, since all the hysteria about that selfie she took with Trump's severed head.

The far right are the ones who tend to get censored the most. Not even just the far right people who are just right wing, the UK government constantly arrests right wing people for their tweets. The German government censors people who are against Germany's immigration policy.

Wasn't this the main reason for Brexit

No. It was Germany that took in many refugees, I believe the UK didn't even take in the agreed minimum number.

Brexit first came about because of in fighting withing one political party and the arrogance of their leader.

The vote went the way it did for a huge host of reasons tbh. Though I very much hold responsible the party who brought it about, who then went on to run both remain and leave campaigns, members in that party then fell out with each other, they then publicly slagged each other off over it and started ramping up the lies and exaggerations to try and win, by the end it was a game of who could lie the most with the leader of one campaign caring little for the country and the leader of other only doing it so that if he won he would immediately put his name into the hat to become PM, which he immediately did and was subsequently stabbed in the back by other politicians in his party who wanted him out of the way so that they themselves could become PM.

The UK already had the power to hugely decrease immigration numbers and successive governments chose not to.

But that is all for another thread.....

Anyway, I don't see Europe as going fascist. France and Netherlands both rejected right wing 'crazy' politicians in recent months, and Italy is Italy, always has been, always will be.

There has been a rise of harder right wing political parties polling better numbers but it's no surprise that this has been since 2008. History shows that in times of economic hardship this always happens to a degree.

Always is a very long time. I’m sure at the height of the Roman Empire there was a starkly different perception of what Italy would always be. They probably thought Germany and the British Isles would never amount to much, too.

And yet the poll result I posted earlier did indicate immigration was a major consideration...
