As for Ireland: I'd bore you. I want your things. I want a full Irish breakfast (white pudding is quite glorious, and potato bread), Tayto crisps, Guinness Foreign Extra, Club Orange, colcannon...

Simple food, well made...can’t go wrong...

You seem breathy and distant.

Explain?

Yes, when I can afford to I order from an ‘independent’ bookseller in Dublin...my favourite cafe just happens to be there too. Bliss. Hodges Figgis is great too. Having said that I have gone down the Amazon UK/US route for secondhand (first) editions...

It's worthwhile hunting around. For some books that are out of copyright I don't bother actually buying a copy; instead I simply download it for free. Other books you can download free, although it's piracy. These I'd rather purchase, even though there may be a significant cost attached.

I've been to the NI Tayto factory at Tandragee.

What I meant was that I find that you've gone quiet. Is there a reason for this? I was enjoying the debate and discussion. Whereabouts are you from in Ireland? Obviously if you live in a village I wouldn't want the name - I just wonder whether I've been there!

In Ireland I've been to Omeath, Carlingford, Dublin, Monaghan, and Donegal.

Ah, okay. I was just tired...there’s a lot going on in my life...plus I am worried about a friend of mine so I am distracted...even more so this morning.

I’m a Dubliner but I moved to County Westmeath (Midlands) at the end of last year and it has suited me perfectly.

I'm really sorry to hear that. What are you, an hour away from Dublin by car?

Glad to see you're happy.

Best to get your life sorted out - you don't want to be bothering with me at this difficult time. Of course, if I'm a help...

Yes, about an hour but I use the bus so it took me 1 hour and 20 minutes this morning. Last Sunday, it took 2 hours and 45 minutes...the vagaries of life...

I have to get my life sorted...it has been chaos for too long...thank you for the offer of help but this is something I can only do on my own. It will all be fine eventually, I’m sure. I just wish my friend would get in touch and let me know that all is (relatively) okay...my mind will not rest until that happens...

What I meant was we can carry on talking about things not related to this - not that I would do anything ridiculous! I am myself very busy at the moment in any case. If you prefer, I shall leave you to it.

The price of the Lotto Plus there is criminal. €6 for a lottery ticket! I never play the Lotto here. Quite frankly I can't be bothered. Gambling is not for me.

Thank you for your clarification. I wasn’t suggesting that you would do anything ridiculous...I find that people want to be helpful...by talking, for example, but I am consistently inconsistent and can’t connect for any length of time...even with WP there is (to me) a binge pattern, that is, I post on a few forums and then I’m gone again for another while...because of my ‘life’ and possibly excessive introversion, even online.

I will return again when my mind isn’t (so) clogged with worries and indecision...thank you so much for the debate...I have enjoyed it immensely.

And yes, you are correct; the lottery ticket price here is beyond a joke! Luckily, we’ve prize bonds! Far more sensible.

Nope. My choice reflects my own stance as a socialist who is sympathetic towards green issues. I never supported Respect when they were an active party.

I was being sarky, admittedly - but their colour scheme was red and green. They were the nearest thing we had to an Islamic political party (the colour of Islamic political parties is often green).
