A bug out bag is a bag of emergency supplies that you can grab if like a fireball hits your house or whatever. It’s supposed to have like firestarting materials, a knife, a couple days rations for your family, yada yada. People plan them different ways. Some people have multiple ones. Like for example, I have a box in the back of my car with a dog bowl, a towel, and a change of clothes for my kid. That’s not a bug out box, but you get the idea.

I have never hunted but my father in law is a hunter. I’m sure it would be easier if you can already fish, but still, mammals can be pretty smart.

I started thinking about this kind of thing a few years ago when my house was without power for a week. I realized I’m in a city, so...kind of more of a problem. Harder to find water. Too many people.

Ah, sounds like a really great idea! :)

I also know worms/grubs are a good source of protein, and I know how to start fires using my eyeglasses and sunlight.

I'm actually pretty resourceful believe it or not. Lol

I, too, am an anarchist. I also don't believe in privilege by birthright, ergo I hate monarchies.

Same here. In fact I wish we didn't have such a thing as currency. Measuring a person's worth as a human being in bank notes and little round peices of metal is such crap. :|

Never thought of it like that, TW12TY, but you speak sense. Since some folk have more of it (currency) than others, it automatically creates a social divide which shouldn't exist. In anarchy, at least all are equal.

Governments are just very high forms of self organization, like sand dune ripples.

You have farmers. You have thieves. The farmers band together and build themselves a castle. They sell protection to the peasants and enrich themselves. With increased riches comes increased power. They declare themselves royalty and really stick it to the peasants. The peasants revolt. They establish various democracies. Some survive, and some fail. It's evolution at work. Only the fittest survive. But God save us from anarchy. Look at central america.

I thought the title said "antichrist". Whew.

We could go to volunteer, and pay-for-service government.

A world without money or wage slavery would be a lot easier. Apparently, the capitalist class seems to have a fetish for dehumanizing individuals until they become cogs in their machines. They also think that humans are just another commodity to be bought and sold

But thankfully, a better world is possible!

I guess you guys wouldn’t like this, being anarchists and all, but who knows.

I have an older family member who lives in a different city and is one of these new socialists (I think he is using the word without know what it means but that’s another discussion). His small town has this workshare program where a person can log in an hour of whatever labor he or she can do and then later withdraw an hour of help from another person with something you’re not good at.

For example, my family member is good at construction. Let’s pretend he’s not good at plumbing. He could spend an hour helping, say, Dave, build a shed. Then another person, let’s say Sally, could spend an hour helping him fix a sink.

I’ve read a lot of Marx and I think it’s a perfect example of communism working as intended.

Not anarchy, but I feel like it could be dropped into place next to any socioeconomic system, pretty much, and work well. I wish we had it here where I am.

Makes some kind of sense, Soc. And so do you, Shamtroll.

Do you hate government on the left and right? Anarchists, at least in the European tradition, are definitely leftists and have alot in common w/commies in that both hate and want to abolish capitalism. Anarchists differ from commies in that they think the state is as a part of the problem as capitalism itself. Just guessing, but from what you said, if you hate the left and the right, perhaps you're more of what Americans at least would call a "libertarian".

I spent a year in a trailer park inhabited by about 20 nice hippies and one sociopath criminal. Not only did he make trouble on site but other people, with weapons, came looking for him. Armed police had to intervene in a bloody fight between axe wielding nutters. I was pretty pleased to see them when they arrived.

It only takes one cat among the pigeons to f**k up the hippy paradise. Eventually you would end up needing guards, ie people with an elevated position in society who specialise in violence.

A great point, Dominekee. Whilst I wouldn't like complete lawlessness because of what could happen, I think the Government should interfere a lot less.
