Interesting thought but it does not explain the miriacles... Which often happen after following Gods precise instructions.
The best thing I can say to those who are looking is there is soo much more. I can't type too much as at the moment I keep typing so many keyboard mistakes it takes ages to correct.

I’m not seeking to shake anybody’s faith.

I’m just conveying my views on the matter of religion.

You have your notion, which has arisen out of your life experiences. To criticize would be to disrespect.

Now there's a notion worthy of outright rejection.

Maybe it's best not to hold animosity towards people of different beliefs as long as they aren't trying to hurt me personally. And not throw a blanket over them.

I've met many Christians who I thought were despicable, but then again I can say the same for many Atheists I have known too. However at the same time I have met a few on both ends who seemed nice enough.

To criticize directly one’s faith is disrespectful.

To criticize “a” faith is not.

I’m a full-blown atheist. One can criticize atheism...but not someone for being an atheist. That’s my view.

Somewhere between a Methodist and a Christian Humanist.

I believe in a higher power, God the father who is the creator of all things and the giver of natural law which is the basis for civilization. In addition to God the father, there is his son Jesus Christ who pay the ultimate price with his life and holy blood from which we derive our salvation.

While God makes it perfectly clear that it is in our best interests to obey his laws and worship him as expected of us, he also allows us to utilize our own free will.

Whether we wish to be saved or otherwise that is our choice but it is that choice that also has consequences for our actions.

On the flip side, it could be said that God is most happy when we his creation love our neighbor, give to the poor, create works of art and culture, practice tolerance, and exercise our free will.

Correction: I do lean towards agnosticism.

I wish there was sort of a transcendental being or abstract entity which is the “driving engine” of all the dynamics of the world (or anti-dynamics).

If only I could download all my thoughts and experiences of my life in regards to this subject so you lot can delve in and take out some gems! I don't know how to put things into words to show you that there is so much more, and I personally have hardly scratched the surface! Oh I have seen miriacles! Things that just can't happen or I could dream up without Gods intervention.
But the journey starts by asking questions... And asking questions to God. Yes, question each other, but sometimes, only God himself can reveal the answers!

I've asked questions of God. I've never gotten any answers.

If there's a God, I'm sure He would want me to think for myself, rather than bother Him with questions all the time...

We'll most likely never know for sure. Science does indeed confirm and disprove a lot of things, but even science has its limits. We judge things based on what we can see and experience on our own tiny little planet when the entire universe itself is so infinite and endless that we will most likely NEVER get to see what truly exists beyond our own little solar system.

There's no telling what exists or what is possible beyond our tiny isolated little world. Things that the human brain can't possibly comprehend.

This is pretty much my position except for the last bit.

Context: General open discussion. Not a debating situation.

If a philosophy works for someone else, why try and change it? <shrug>
Whatever floats your boat.
Whatever bakes your cookies.
It is unmitigated arrogance to try and change the view of someone if that view isn't self-destructive or is not harmful to other people.

I too will speak my mind but I do go out of my way not to make it personal.
There is a difference between making a general comment and directing that comment specifically to an individual.

Also consider:
If we were to be constrained from making our opinions known, which may be in disharmony to someone else's, then more than likely there wouldn't be discussion groups like this one. 8O

In regards to disrespecting a POV:
This old adage says it well:
I respect the right of others to have an opinion, but I reserve the right not to respect those opinions.

I'll dust off my default example:
The ancient Aztec priest has a right to his opinion.
I just happen to believe his belief in human sacrifice is scheiße.
