The Christians that dont celebrate Easter
Most of Christendom celebrates Easter this weekend. However there are a few Christian denominations that dont celebrate Easter. Some of these groups are the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Quakers, the church of Christ and the non-institutional church of Christ. They dont celebrate it for various reasons. Quakers dont celebrate Easter or other holidays because they choose to focus on inner spiritual experiences.
The Jehovah's Witnesses dont choose to celebrate it because they view it as being associated with paganism. They choose to celebrate the Memorial of Christ's death instead. The church of Christ does not celebrate Easter because there was no Easter in the first century and also because it came from the Catholic Church much later. The church of Christ does not think celebrating Easter religiously is authorized. Every Friday is Good Friday and every Sunday is Easter in the church of Christ.
That used to be a yearly debate on Protestant forums... that and Christmas.
