Hi yall,
I was on the computer and got some shocking news. The Trump Administration has ordered the IRS to stop enforcing the Johnson Amendment. The Johnson Amendment says that churches who get political lose their tax exempt status. It was rarely enforced. Now churches will be able to get involved in politics and reverends can now endorse politicians from the pulpit without losing their 501c3 tax exempt status.

I think other non-profits will be able to get political too. More political donations will start going to churches. Political division in churches will get even worse. I am afraid wealthy religious groups like the Catholics and the Mormons will start donating money to politicians. Utah politics will likely get even crazier and Mormon-dominated. I am wondering how the church of Christ will be affected. The Televangelists will get even worse as if that was even possible.

Pastors can now tell their churches who to vote for.

Just wait for some mosque to donate money to an anti-Zionist politician. Then Trump will likely tell the IRS to suddenly start enforcing it again -- but only against non-Christian religious groups, in an explicit endorsement of Christian nationalism. And the Supreme Court will roll over once again.

I am sure Jerry Falwell would be really happy right about now if he was still alive.
